Ben Carson: Why yes, I have been promised a position in the Trump administrati[W:120]

How many exactly? Give me a number out of the total.

Two so far. Nothing brings shadenfreude quite like watching Trump attack Christie for being an absentee governor while Christie is on the stage.

The best part was when he admitted he wished he could have endorsed someone else (apparently no one else offered him a job), and then pointed out that - hey! - even if Trump is a bad President, it's only four years!

I swear. This election cycle is like it's the last season of America, and the writers have decided to just go nuts.

It may have been an endorsement, but it didn't seem like a ringing one, that's for sure.

Two is not very many, but I'm still holding out for TDS to respond.

Why would a successful surgeon and businessman "need" anything?

When one's a sociopathic narcissist that ego needs to be fed in some way. Politics is the perfect meal.

I'm shocked! Shocked, that someone would offer someone else a position in government if they came out publically and supported them! Unbelievable. Possibly even a law was broken!

I'm equally shocked that the democrats are totally OK with Clinton and the Clinton Money Laundering Foundation, but hey, one lawbreaker is royalty, the other isn't.

For those who believe in Christ, that's the way our home should be.

Walking with the Lord.

Both wearing bathrobes looking like they're chillin' in a sauna?

You have to prove quid pro quo.

Good luck with that, because you have to have it on tape or have a corroborating witness. It is notoriously hard to prosecute.

Ask a Cook County prosecutor about it.

This is silly. The President has every right to nominate whoever they want to their cabinet. The same rules don't apply to political appointments as do elected positions.

are you telling us that if the president makes a presidential appointment in return for the receipt of a bribe that is the president's right to do, free of prosecution

i bet spiro agnew would have wished to know of these secret powers

What is the bribe in this case? Administration positions are nominated by the president and subjected to confirmation hearings in the Senate. So Trump and Carson have exchanged nothing without Congressional approval, and Carson can't guarantee his supporters.

You can't bribe someone with something you have no control over.

There is no bribe here.

then you are certain that the donald did not make his offer of a presidential appointment contingent upon carson first coming out and endorsing trump's presidential candidacy
what gives you that certitude

I am almost positive that that was indeed the case, but that isn't a bribe.

I can't think of a single presidential nomination that was made where the nominee didn't support the president first.

Every presidential appointee list is full of key political endorsers, campaign bundlers, lobbyists and well wishers.

You are being ridiculous here.

not doubting that what came out here is the way things often work
only seldom do neophytes such as carson expose the quid pro quo arrangement
but now that it has been exposed, it's time to investigate the allegation that a public office was offered by trump in return for an endorsement
this for that
gives the appearance of unethical behavior

Well, he does raise a valid point that it's extremely hard to prove. All Trump has to do, really, is deny it.

Doesn't look good, though. Carson's gifted hands just inadvertently left poop on Donald's doorstep and rang the bell.

With all due respect, the more poop Donald Trump has on his doorstep the more votes he gets. He's a male version of Hillary in that respect.

There's not going to be a Trump administration.

Wait and see.

Compared to Trump University, this story is nothing.

Trump clearly broke the law. It's kind of a big deal. Unless you have Trump's "schlong" in your mouth like some here.
