Islamic State defector brings 'goldmine' of details on 22,000 supporters | Reuters

A disillusioned former member of Islamic State has passed a stolen memory stick of documents identifying 22,000 supporters in over 50 countries to a British journalist, a leak that could help the West target Islamist fighters planning attacks.

Leaks of such detailed information about Islamic State are rare and give Britain's spies a potential trove of data that could help unmask militants who have threatened more attacks like those that killed 130 people in Paris last November.

A man calling himself Abu Hamed, a former member of Islamic State who became disillusioned with its leaders, passed the files to Britain's Sky News on a memory stick he said he had stolen from the head of the group's internal security force.

It will take a bit of time for this to become realized. As of the article it seems a bit too good to be true.

If this proves to be credible than at the very least those who deny that Islamism is a problem may have their eyes opened.

No one denies problem. The other problem a good number have, no such thing as a good Muslim and condemn all Muslims.

I believe that Islam is certainly the worst major religion and can offer several reasons why, but I don't believe for a moment that 'all Muslims are terrorists', or that anyone condemns all Muslims. Most Muslims have little choice in which religion they can follow so we can't blame them all. But we must also recognize Islam, what it teaches, and its threats to democracy, as well as to the other Muslims who don't go along with the literal teachings.

I was not referring to you. But there were and are members on this Board that do.
These countries, Saudi in particular have to reform at a faster pace than they have.
Funds from Saudi, Qatar and other Sunni countries are fueling terrorists.
They also have to, along with Iran, lower the rhetoric, and as noted below, learn to live in a cold peace.

Or extend this to "all religion = evil because...reasons"

I am cautiously optimistic. If this is what it looks like at face value (or even close) then it is a dent in the war on terrorism. Any dent of that size is a good thing :)
If it is a ruse then I hope we can weed that out as well.

That's funny/pathetic. Obama is pretending to display leadership by insissting others do the leading. More of this 'leading from behind' nonsense. It's better he remains quiet, as most western leaders do, rather than saying things like that.

And as Obama says this Iran flexes its muscles undeterred by either words or military might. They know who has the strong horse. Iran's Cash for Murder: Why is the UK Silent?

The west will respond accordingly. If the memory stick reveals any ISIS members in the US then they'll be investigated, rounded up and put in jail.

And their 'backyard' is rapidly becoming their front yard. The ridding of Gadaffi by Obama and NATO forces was one of the craziest decisions since 'ending the war' in Libya.

Gee, you really read a lot into that post! It seems your feelings have been hurt but, seriously, I cannot support your Islamic ambitions. I respect the rights of Gays, women and children just too much.

Did you know you can check the original link to see whether it's factually incorrect or not? Whenever you're in doubt about any news source you can always check elsewhere to be certain. In this case you can easily find other sources who will support the facts as laid out in that article. Facts don't have feelings.
