DNC Vice President Endorses Bernie Sanders, Quits DNC

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/02/28/why-did-this-top-dnc-official-just-endorse-bernie-sanders/

So Tulsi Gabbard is now a hero in my book. She just took her entire cushy DNC position and personal risk in order to support Sanders, and purely for moral reasons. She's also apparently been fighting Her Highness the Royal Queen Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on adding more primary debates, etc, and right now I am pretty sure The Queen wants to strangle Gabbard for this decision.

So all in all, I wish I lived in Hawaii so I could help vote Gabbard in a third time, and I also wished that I lived in Florida so I could vote Tim Canova, too, to oust The Queen from her seat in Congress. But more to the point, I hope this will get a little bit of momentum going for Bernie.

I've never been a real fan of Tulsi Gabbard's domestic policies, but, she is a decorated military officer who has my respect for her unselfish service to this country, she and Bernie Sanders both have my respect due to the fact that they both stand for their true beliefs (even if I don't have the same beliefs), and this is not the first time that I have seen Congresswoman Gabbard stand up to her party leadership.

Agree with her policy positions or not, she damned sure deserves our respect - she has mine.

Could it be that the electorate anger hasn't escaped the Democratic party either? With the coronation of Hillary and all. Their implosion? Hmm.

Implosion?
DEM implosion is on a low class A minor league professional baseball level.
Compared to the hall-of-fame major league implosion we're seeing from the gop.

gops are weakly and lamely attempting to stoke the DEM embers.
Trying to cover up the complete and embarrassing dysfunction in the GOP .

Im guessing you're not the most well traveled poster on DP, eh?

Oh please.

We used to fly Shuttle misions to MIR, we used to partner with the Russians and now we and our allies are getting buzzed by Russian bombers.

Obama apologized for American aggression and then he destabilized not only Iraq but the entire ME and North Africa by backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and killing off Qhadafi in Lybia.

He backed a plan that gave the leading sponsor of State terror billions of dollars to well....sponsor more State terror.

He did nothing as ISIS and Islamic Jihadist ran roughshod through once liberated Iraqi towns killing women men and children. He did nothing as Lybia fell into the hands of radical jihadist.

He drew imaginary red lined in Syria and did nothing as that war raged on creating a unprecedented refugee crisis that flooded a already Economically challenged Europe with Muslim refugees.

You're delusional if you think we're better off internationally now than when we were back in 2008

The Dems imploded back when their Candidates couldn't run on Obama's key accomplishments and were forced to depend on empty identity politics to win over voters.

Back when they got their asses handed to them in the Miderms.

Their two choices are a women who's currently under a Criminal FBI investigation and a avowed Socialist who' s promising to raise everyones taxes in a down economy.

That's the end consequences of their implosion, and they STILL cant run on ObamaCare, the economy or Foreign Policy.

I welcome the addition to Bernies momentum, and this is nice endorsement from someone rebelling from inside the upper tiers of the DNC itself, the very seat of the establishment (D).

I have to wonder though...... could she... maybe........ be trying for Bernies VP?

It's so rare to see a politician on either side take a risk and put his/her own role in jeopardy. Good for Gabbard for doing what her gut tells her and not blindly obeying Wasserman- Schultz.

Absolutely. I knew a little bit about Gabbard prior to this but not much at all. After this gutsy move by Gabbard I read up on her. I like her a lot. She is a young woman on her way. What impresses me about her is it seems that Gabbard isn't necessarily looking for the easy way, but rather the right way. Holy ****! How can that happen?

Good on Gabbard and all the best to her.

The U.S. is seeing the political rise of strong, honorable women. Yes, honorable women rising to leadership roles nationally. (No, not Hillary. I said, honorable.)

DEMs who support HRC or BS should also be pointing out how much class this DEM race has compared to the gop fiasco .

Shes great on foreign policy. A great endorsement for Bernie! :applaud

Yeah, I know. It's like some day we're going to have politicians that aren't scum, the only thing that we have to do is destroy the current political establishment.

I really only knew her name and a little bit about her prior to this. DWS tended to seriously overshadow her. I saw her a few times on the political shows yesterday and I was absolutely taken aback by her appearance and her unbelievably articulate speaking skills. It would have been in the DNC's interest to have such an appealing woman at the helm instead of someone who is utterly dislikeable.

But moving away from the appearance, I am also really happy to see someone with such conviction in Washington. They're so damn rare these days.

And HAHA no way would I ever make the mistake of assuming Hillary and honorable in the same sentence. Hell, not even on the same page.

Bernie should consider her as a running mate.

that you think Obama's election and presidency did nothing good for our reputation around the world tells me that you probably haven't left the country any time in the last 7 years. the fact that you didn't directly answer my question leads me to believe that I'm probably right about that.

He did FAR more damage than he did good.

He bragged about Iraq being sovereign, stable and Democratic and then he destabilized it by pulling out all US Military assets.

He then did nothing as ISIS ran roughshod through Iraq killing Men, Women and Children.

Our next President should apologize for him and the idiots that voted for him....twice.

This actually makes Schultz look bad by comparison. Schultz has no moral reservations about her own conflict of interest.

DWS is arguably the single best thing the Republicans have going for them this election cycle. Quite frankly it wouldn't surprise me if she were a Republican plant--and I'm rarely one to engage in conspiracy claims!

Well they also have the two Candidates running on the Democrats side going for them.

One who's under a criminal FBI investigation and the other who's promising tax increases in a bad economy

A financial transactions tax will not hurt anybody but the gamblers on Wall Street, and that won't really hurt them. Rather a consumption tax IMO, the fairest of them all.
