If this didn't play some factor, to even a small degree, things like Jihad AlNikah would not exist.

I've been working in Arabic studies for over a decade so I know that this isn't some made up thing.
As far as the Hijab, it depends on how you look at it and how it presents itself. The reality is is that the hijab (and many other codes of dress for women) is based in a an oppressive patriarchal culture. You can see men walking around wearing basically whatever they want and women are definitely not allowed the same right. This type of oppression can be seen as a form of radicalism in and of itself.
Now, what many people don't realize is that there are also plenty of Muslim women who voluntarily wear the hijab and definitely prefer it. So, again, this all depends on how it presents itself.

Sexual jihad (Arabic: جهاد النكاح, jihad al-nikah) is a controversial practice of women within some Wahhabist groups who are allegedly voluntarily offering themselves in sexual comfort roles to men fighting for the establishment of Islamic rule.[1]
