love in the quran is not what we in the west consider love. it's the 'i'm honor killing you because i love you' kind of love.
Read it, have you?

Oh Texas? LOL Real shocker. A bunch of redneck trash
All 3 Abrahamic religions have gone through violent, murderous, and misogynistic periods.
Pure bigotry, and cultural stereotyping.
Exactly. There's a lot of that there. Wish that embarassment of a state would secede.
Not gunna lie but they chose a bad color scheme...
I mean, if it was a pink flag it probably wouldn't have ticked so many people off
If the response to that banner doesn't prove the existence of Islamophobia in the US, I don't know what does. Christ, there are smartphone apps out there that can translate words and phrases *on the fly.* All these guys had to do was download one and use it. That would have taken mere seconds. But nope, can't do that, because TEXAS! and 'MURICA!

Good.
Only one is going through that now.
You have to know the language to know the letters. That language isn't Latin based. I don't see any letters, and I don't have characters like that on my laptop to type them in for translation. You have to hire someone to translate.
A black flag with white Arabic writing and a graphic.
The above describes both this "valentines" flag and the ISIS flag.
This was obviously a troll just as was previously mentioned. Hanging a black banner (flag) with white Arabic writing from a State government building under current conditions is just baiting knee jerks.
It's a sucker punch.
It's doing something you know is provocative and then playing dumb when people react the way you expected them to.
It is trolling.
Most understand free speech when it's not in Arabic.in general, free speech, something that apparently some people do not understand.

Agreed with every sentence except possibly the next-to-last one. But trolling is, in general, free speech, something that apparently some people do not understand.
I do not think it should be illegal. Free speech also means I can publicly and vocally say when I think something is stupid.
How it ended up on a government building is a little sticky though...
Don't know what that has to do with the Arabic sign but things ought to be in a familiar language if you want to get your message across.Or more specifically, it's in English and it doesn't threaten The Way Things Ought To Be.
There was no 'hysteria'.Well sure, there could be a question of how the people got up there in the first place! But I think we can agree that that wasn't what the hysteria was all about.
There was no 'hysteria'.
But there was knee jerk reaction by some to equating it with Terrorism without even knowing the meaning behind the words.
Including people whose very first post on this thread was to post pictures of terrorists doing terrorist things (which got removed by mods).
I have little doubt that this action was designed to produce that knee jerk reaction.
It proves two things. That many Americans can be tricked into being outraged when they shouldn't, and that the people who did it are assholes.
I am personally so sick of the PC "gotcha"/outrage script.

...because no one in Texas has any Arabic friends to translate it for them.
