Reagan made a similar deal so it is not far fetched at all to think they would try it again.

Not only did Reagan deal with terrorists as president, as revealed in the Iran-Contra scandal, the preponderance of evidence now supports the charge that his campaign negotiated with Iranian hostage-takers while he was running for president in 1980, to delay the release of hostages before the election, which could have helped Carter win reelection — what was known as “The October Surprise.” Given that Reagan wasn’t president then, but was negotiating to thwart a president’s attempt to get hostages released, this is not simply questionable behavior, it is arguably an act of treason. Democrats’ reluctance to vigorously investigate Reagan’s misdeeds — the exact opposite of GOP attitudes toward Clinton and Obama — has left much of the true story still shrouded in mystery, but what we do know is damning enough in itself, and still cries out for a truly thorough investigation.

Man if true this is grounds for a treason prosecution for those involved (likely suspects are Issa, Sessions, King, Cruz and Rubio).

Now I'm a little dubious the Iranians are even more dishonest than most of the GOP but if true presumably there are commination's that can be traced. This may be the death knell of the GOP even more so than the 2016 elections

Nah. Reagan sold weapons to Iran, in secret, to make money to fund an insurrection in Nicaragua. No supposition, it all came out in public, and it didn't affect his standing at all. A lot of other guys took falls but Bush pardoned them all.
America has an amazing ability to absorb scandal.

You know, I distrust Iran even more than I distrust Hillary, if that is at all possible. They lie like a rug too.

But, all that being said, the sad truth is, be it true or not, it really isn't that hard to believe.

Iran could say that the sun will rise tomorrow and my natural reaction would be, "Bull****!" I don't believe anything they say. I have, in my weaker moments, wished Iran was turned in a glass parking lot.

But if any other credible source of information had made this claim, I wouldn't have a hard time believing it at all. It would surprise me none whatsoever. The slimy crap we have to put up with in American politicians.

The ONLY guy I have a smidgeon of trust, standing at the podiums, is a quirky old man with unicorn ideas. God love him but forbid he ever gets in to the Whitehouse.

Democrats, republicans, liberals, rightwingers........ we are ALL so screwed.
