Trump wants Megyn Kelly off this week's debate

C'mon pards

It's not like the USA doesn't stick it's nose in where it doesn't belong.

My apologies. I didn't know that this was the entire country of Sweden speaking. I just thought it was some foreigner on the forum. I can't imagine going on a Swedish forum and trying to tell them how to conduct their nation's business. Guess that's just me.

No, I will tell you that his threat was an effort to modulate her and her peers behaviour, and I will tell you after the event if it worked our not. What is this thing he says that he knows about her? He does not make idle threats.

My expectation is that she will be there, he will be there, that she is pissed and will find the hardest fair questions that she can come up with to ask him hoping to force him into embarrassing himself, , and that Trump will handle them well.

Basically I think Trump is throwing down the gauntlet...come at me with the best that you have got, just keep it fair.

Trump loves a challenge, he lives for these big moments where it is just him and the people on the other side of the table, and may the best man win. I think he is trying to create that in this debate, that this is where he intends to seal the deal with the American people by way of a masterful debate performance.

That in what I think.

Now we see if I am right.

I am at about 60% on this.

He's a pompous blowhard. In addition to being a racist demagogue, of course. And Putler lover.

I like it. No matter what happens, you declare victory.

Trump always got it fair. He's not "throwing down a gauntlet", he's threatening not to come if Megyn Kelly is a moderator because controversy generates attention, and because he doesn't like it when people ask him tough questions and make him look bad on national television.

Trump loves a challenge, he lives for these big moments where it is just him and the people on the other side of the table, and may the best man win.

And you know this because...... he tells you that he does?

You've set up a non-falsifiable thesis. If he goes, it shows how tough he is, if he doesn't, it shows how tough he is.

Trump took lessons from WallStreet, winning no matter what happens is the way to go, if you can get it.

And you know this because...... he tells you that he does?
He says, his life does not make sense if this is false, and almost no one who has watched him over the year disputes it.

Trump always got it fair. He's not "throwing down a gauntlet", he's threatening not to come if Megyn Kelly is a moderator because controversy generates attention, and because he doesn't like it when people ask him tough questions and make him look bad on national television.

"he is just seeking attention" is a common tactic, it is a form of labeling something garbage so that it can be disposed unexamined. Trump is playing political chess (extremely well I will add) not stroking his ego with attention, and the sooner you learn this the sooner you will figure out what this POTUS run is all about. You have been consistently wrong about Trump for a reason, and that reason is you.

She against womens rights??? Which rights would those be and what proof do you have to back up your charge? Oh, and being unable to answer those questions is what defines a person as a hack.

Well there's the fact that she doesn't believe herself to be a feminist.

In a 2010 interview with GQ, three years before she hit Fox News Primetime with The Kelly File, Kelly firmly rejected the idea of feminism:
Do you consider yourself a feminist?
I don't really love that word. That connotes a harshness and almost a shrillness that I find unattractive. What is it about that word? Hmm, I respect women like Gloria Steinem who paved the way. But when you say "feminist" now, there is a message that if you are sexy and you acknowledge that part of your personality publicly, then it's somehow an affront to women. And I reject that.

Beyond that, she continues to take money from Fox News which is clearly against Feminism and equal rights as they continue to promote ideas that abortions should be illegal. That to me and many others is all the proof we need to believe that Kelly is in fact nothing more but another partisan hack for a news media corporation that is so far away from equal rights for all.

Is this why Kelly (and other feminists) essentially accused Trump of being misogynist when he mentioned she had blood when he described the malice of her questions towards him in a previous GOP debate? Even when he explained he meant she had blood in her eye? And she and the feminists still didn't believe him. Still accused him of being misogynist. FEMINISTS.

Kelly went after Trump because her news station Fox News hates him and is still attempting to do anything to help elect anyone else.

So if he caves and attends the debate despite Megyn Kelly being a moderator, you will agree it was a cave?
As I've said in a previous post on this thread, politely tell Ms. Megyn that he isn't conservative but has some conservative principles. Name them, maybe. Sidenote:eek:ne thing conservatives can't stand is a politician telling them their political ideology isn't any more pertinent than any other. This can indirectly be said when Trump admits he has some conservative principles. Joust with her, maybe, but force her to have a relationship with him. If she refuses, she'll be seen as the instigator and loser, politically. Trump is going to need practice for when he negotiates with ideologues more politically divergent than Ms. Megyn.

This is satire, yes? [emoji38]

He tweeted:

'Based on @MegynKelly's conflict of interest and bias she should not be allowed to be a moderator of the next debate.'

Donald Trump Attacks Megyn Kelly Again, Some More

Thoughts?

Cripes...everyone step back and see Trump's non policy statements for what they are...publicity. media. Focus 'on me'.

He plays the media like a hooked fish on a line. Trump wants media to blast him. He thrives on it. He's like the aliens in a sci fi movie: don't drop a nuke on them as they absorb the energy and grow stronger.

Trump doesn't give two hoots about Megan Kelly other than more fuel.

Hint. Guess who wants Kelly on a debate panel...TRUMP. Why...it will up the attention on himself. It will be Trump vs Kelly...not Rubio, Christie, etc.

You actually believe Fox News wants Donald Trump to be the Republican nominee?

Every station and newspaper wants Trump and Clinton to be the nominees. They are businesses. On the surface The NY Times, MSNBc, OBS hate Trump. however they all thrive off of him.

The next President...they will all want Trump. It's about audience. ratings.

CNN spent a thousand hours on OJ. Hundred on a disappeared aircraft. Hundreds more on Monica and Bill.

Yes every news station is a business. But I would question your knowledge on the subject if you believe that Fox News who has vast amount of support from the Republican party wants Trump to win. Each news station also has a political leaning, and Fox News is strongly leaning towards an establishment candidate rather than Trump.

Are you bisexual 'cause Brad Pitt is bisexual.

Some, here, think Trump is disgusting. I, equally, think being bisexual is disgusting.

No, I'm not bisexual. I'm a married (to a man) woman. I just find Brad Pitt very attractive. And even if he is bisexual, I don't care. I never concern myself over other people's bedroom preferences...just as I hope nobody concerns themselves with mine.

just about everyone at FOX wants Trump to win. And everyone at SNL wants Sara Palin to be VP.
CNN would not exist in 4 years if Jeb was President and there was no wars or terrorism in the next 4 years. The ratings would sink to non existent.

Is it the job of a moderator to 'go after' a participant in a debate? It sounds a bit like a ref in a boxing match trying to trip up the one he doesn't like.

These aren't really debates and Kelly isn't really a moderator. they're Q&A sessions with the moderators acting as questioners. Given that format "going after" Trump - any of them - is fine with me. Honestly if he can't handle her how's he going to handle the President of Mexico, let alone Putin??

I think he is a big baby.

The one person who truly came after him and he obviously cannot stand facing her again.

Pathetic for a guy who wants to be President of the United States.

While I am not a fan of Megan Kelly's line of questioning in the first debate(I don't care for "gotcha" questions from moderators), Trump does not and should not have any say regarding who a network uses as moderators at a debate.

I agree. The question regarding Trump's treatment of women would be a fair question for someone like Carly Fiorina, however I just do not think the moderators should be attempting to trip up candidates.

I think that any moderator that stubbornly tries to keep Trump on point, and to answer the questions, (any questions,) with direct substance based in fact, will be ostracized by Trump and be called a poopy-head.

I read an interesting humor piece from The New Yorker called "Lil' Donald," telling a story of The Donald in grade school when his teacher asked him the answer to a math question.

Ms. Abernathy called the roomful of eleven-year-olds to order and told them to open their math books to page thirty-one. Her eyes scanned the class and came to rest on a stocky boy beneath a dome of golden hair, who was making grotesque faces at a girl in leg braces.

“Donald! What is the square root of a hundred and forty-four?”

The boy turned his attention to the teacher with sleepy-eyed indifference.

“I’m sorry, what did you say?”

“What is the square root of a hundred and forty-four?”

“Do I know the square root of a hundred and forty-four? Is that what you’re asking me? Of course I do. It’s absurd that you would even ask me that.”

“Please tell the class what it is.” <snip>

Li’l Donald - The New Yorker

Much like his debate skills.....................

He just said in his news conference that he won't be at the debate...

This is clearly wrong. Fox is strongly in bed with the establishment candidates of the Republican party. SNL is not a news organization, it is a "comedy" show that would make fun of any candidate no matter who they are. Just because Palin is a complete idiot doesn't mean SNL wouldn't take the time to make fun of someone not as stupid. CNN's ratings are horrendous. They have these debates to get a bit of ratings and then go back to horrible ratings for the rest of the year.

I think that hard line Conservatives who believe in zero cooperation with the other side have gotten the message that what they are going to continue to get from Trump is a giant "screw you".

Trump will talk to anyone to get a deal. And unlike The Professor he will do it honestly, without condescension, and he will offer concessions.
:doh
What world do you live in? He is refusing to go to a debate because of the moderator, and you think he is the king of compromise? What the ****!? Trump supporters are completely illogical... Its close to "newspeak"
