Olympics Loosen Rules to Allow Pre-Op M-to-F Transsexuals to Compete with Women - Breitbart[h=2]There’s great news for adventurous male Olympic hopefuls: if they declare themselves women and reduce their testosterone below 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months prior to competition, they can compete against ladies.[/h]There’s even better news for these men; according to transgender guidelines approved by the International Olympic Committee, genitalia does not serve as a prerequisite. The guidelines state: “To require surgical anatomical changes as a pre-condition to participation is not necessary to preserve fair competition and may be inconsistent with developing legislation and notions of human rights.”
Really?
This is dumb, bad and horrible. Oh their T levels are at 10 or less for 12 months? AND? These are athletes, who prior to the the HRT were at a high physical level, the T drop does affect strength, but not enough to make this a good idea. It's a very BAD idea. The LPGA had a sex change and two year wait to compete because after surgery there is a much more pronounced effect from the Estrogen and on over all body strength.
I, cannot support this move. I understand, I feel for these ladies wanting to compete, but the physical edge they have is far to great, 12 months is not enough. My wife would point out the problems in women's weightlifting for example. I cannot support this move, this way.
