A FORMER Guantanamo Bay guard has spoken for the first time about what he claims was a CIA murder of detainees, covered up as a triple suicide.Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Hickman was on guard at the Cuban prison camp on the night they died, and calls the official version of events “impossible”.
“They would have had to all three tie their hands and feet together, shove rags down their throats, put a mask over their face, made a noose, hung it from the ceiling on the side of the cellblock, jumped into the noose and hung themselves simultaneously,” the ex-Marine told Vice News in an explosive video interview.
“In a cellblock where guards are ordered to check on detainees every four minutes.”

But why would the authorities want to kill these men and make their deaths look like suicide?
Hickman says it’s because the three were regular hunger strikers, who incited others to do the same.
“They had a policy that if a detainee is hunger-striking, he cannot be interrogated,” said Hickman. “In 2006, they were doing roughly 200 interrogations a week, so any massive hunger-strike would, what they consider, cripple the intelligence value.

The CIA is unaccountable to anyone for their behavior and it seems like they have been wagging the dog for some time. They openly lie to congress with impunity. Something should probably be done.

Are they "unaccountable to anyone"? That does not sound true. And to believe that the the C
IA wags the dog is a far out claim, though, their information is important for Executive decisions, as statistical as most of it might be.

The CIA has been found to lie under oath, to violate its own regulations, to violate human rights, to violate the laws of this country.... Who has been held accountable in any serious manner?

To be honest, I have not followed the number of CIA personnel to have been indicted. I have followed the happenings in my neck of the social world and have found that the US is generally pretty good and certainly much better at engineering legal controls and in their application to misbehavior of persons in power than in most other countries. So I suspect it would be the same in this case.

The very existence of Guantánamo Concentration Camp is an indictment of the American people. It was designed in order to circumvent the legal principle that there cannot be incarceration of a suspect without charge and conviction. By having the camp in Cuba, the Americans believed they would not be answerable to domestic or international law and the Executive could have its agents do whatever they liked with impunity. This has been done with the permission of the Legislature which finances it operations.

It is known that inmates have been tortured there but this does not bother the American voters so ultimately the crime is on them. I have long suspected that there is more to come about dark deeds from this hellish place and, in time, all will be revealed but the Americans cannot wash their hands of this disgrace. For the time being, America is too powerful to be made follow their own and international law. Let us remember that no one was prosecuted for the crimes perpetrated in Dachau, Sachsenhausen, Bergen-Belsen, etc., until the Third Reich was destroyed by the Soviets and others in 1945.

Kiriakou and Sterling. Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

Is Hickman USA or USMC? OP story says both.

Assuming the OP article is accurate and the source is legitimate, it should surprise no one.

Nothing new here. History from the 1980s, GHWBush, Iran Contra, Ollie North, Cocaine, Arms, Crooked banks (BCCI), Panama, Noriega, Mena Arkansas, Barry Seal, funding arms and training for guerilla warfare (ISIS style in Nicaragua), Abu Ghraib, torture, Guantanamo torture, McCullogh lies to Congress, CIA director Brennan lies to Congress, CIA spies on Congress, CIA has its' own army, CIA controls drone program, black budgets built with drug money, Opium in Afghanistan, and wherein does the CIA lie besides to Congress and the American people? Kennedy reputedly was going to downsize the CIA because of the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Carter was going to eliminate the CIA. Eisenhower warned us about this.

So....

Allegation. Without Evidence. By a guy who lacked access.

Must be true.

Donald Trump 2015: "Illegal Immigrants are great people and you have to give them a path to legalization."
The path begins on the otherside of the border. ;)

That sounds like Hillary Clinton!

Have at it.

I'm all for reducing the size of the feds and/or putting power checks on those bastards.
Yeah, what are you gonna do when the undocumenteds storm the border and the religious radicals shoot and maim? Call out the state militia?

It is when the terror hunters became terrorists. There is n legal basis for it, no constitutional support and in practical application doesn't save the US harmless since all offshore sites, embassies, consulates and military basis are considered US soil.

That is when the US lost the moral ground and became as bad as terrorists.

I like how no said a word about Obama not keeping his promise

Pshaw...

If this thread continues in this vein, it might soon land in "Conspiracy Theories." LOL

How is it - if GITMO is so darned bad, some of the detainees want to remain there rather than be released?

No, he was talking about amnesty. Trump was a pro amnesty candidate until a comment about rapists got him attention. That's why he attacked Mitt Romney from the left on the issue.

Mitt Romney. From the left.

I wont even raise an eyebrow at this until I see a shred of evidence.

**** the CIA.

Guy worked at Delta. Got out, wrote a book. Books need to sell. Need a good story to sell book. No proof, no credence.

There are 2 ways to be fooled: one is to believe was isn't true, and the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Perhaps the only true statement ever issued by Obama was "we tortured some folks".

Yes Virginia, we tortured some folks, and as John Kiriakou pointed out, the boys in the CIA did a bunch of it.

As we saw at Abu Ghraib, so did the US Army and many others.

And your point is?

existing laws not only prevent Obama from moving guantanamo prisoners to U.S. soil, but also prohibit the pentagon from spending appropriated funds to do so
