I believe I stated several days ago the simple solution is to turn off all utilities, surround the place; anything can come out, nothing goes in. How long they hold up determines the sentence

There doesn't need to be a "death count". But we could stop letting them come come and go out of the compound at will to get supplies. They had gotten so use to this unusual freedom they started driving government vehicles into town.

I personally want those disgusting monsters dead. I live in Nevada and we Nevadans are already familiar with the Bundy's and their lot. As you've already seen from various stories: the Bundies and their supporters already get huge federal benefits and their problem is that they want even more. They're literally leeches off welfare. They are exactly the "welfare queens" that conservatives are supposed to be railing against.

It reminds me of Glenn Beck railing about socialism while boasting about how he had to study at a public library. Or how Craig T. Nelson says he was on food stamps and welfare and nobody helped him. Or the senior citizens clamoring to get the government out of their medicare.

It's sickening. The people who complain the most about welfare are the ones who get "wealthcare". It's not the woman struggling to support four kids. It's not the single dude who just lost his job and all the trades in his area have been outsourced. Nope it's the folks like the Bundies or the Glenn Becks, or the Craig Nelson's. They make a big hoopla about government while sucking at it's teet.

And that's the thing that drives me nuts. I'm all for putting a stop to welfare abuse. But the people who are complaining are the people who want benefits for themselves and nobody else. And rest assured, this isn't about state's rights or government abuse or freedom. It's about the Bundies and his supporters wanting welfare benefits but whining while draping themselves in an American flag and screaming about patriotism. It's makes me wanna spit.

You understand what has happened to cattle producers over the last 20-30 years right? It's not that the BLM is trying to **** them over so much as their margins on raising cattle have become razor thin if non-existent due to the consolidation of meat processors. The majority of ranchers are economically struggling to stay afloat, they need use of the public lands for grazing to survive. They are desperate.

I had almost forgot about it....until I heard the story about the dildo care package.

From the photos, the refuge looks like a compound with several buildings. The visitor center doesn't look that small. The employee area seems to have a good size kitchenette and room enough for exercise equipment and storage...and there's probably two restrooms and a large annex for visitors. Somehow I don't think not having enough space is their problem.

Sucks to be them. They are using public lands. Why should my taxpayer dollars be used for their own private wealth? I hate corporate welfare even more than what the Bundies are doing. But they're trying to claim it's about freedom and patriotism and all that. That is a bunch of garbage. They're terrorists.

They've lost in the courts. They've lost in literally every public arena they've tried to petition. This is nothing more than a big poorly planned temper tantrum. They're seizing federal property, vandalizing federal property, and using this as a stunt to demand welfare. The only thing more absurd than their stunts is the government's weak handling of this. I guarantee you if there were a bunch of Blacks in the inner city seizing federal buildings there would have been a severe response.

EDIT: you wanna know what's gonna suck even more for cattle producers in this country? The labelling requirements being scaled back on our food. If cattle ranchers gave a damn they'd be mentioning that important piece of information to the media at every chance they got instead of whinging about not being able to use public property to enrich themselves.

The freedom and patriot claims are indeed a bunch of hooey and yeah I'd even call them terrorists because of the threats they've made. But there are deeper economic reasons as why this is happening and it's not just that rich ranchers want corporate welfare.

I hear you, and I mostly agree. But ever single time a thread starts here about people wanting a higher minimum wage the cons here come out of the woodwork and scream too bad, if they don't like their job or their pay move and get a better/another job.

I wouldn't use it, but same argument can be made here.

Anyway BTW how did that 1 family get $115.000 to take care of foster kids? $10k a month? WTF? For 4 kids? Am I reading something wrong? Yep, never mind. I kept reading and they were being paid for other kids too. Not just the 4 foster kids. But still, $115k? That's a lot of money.

No, you read it right. The money was provided by a Catholic Charity. And least it wasn't the government.

Yeah, I edited my reply. I guess they were getting paid for other kids staying there temporarily too. Which is cool.. But at 1st when I read it I thought they were getting that much for just the 4 foster kids living there.
