Obama isn't the primary problem. He is only the result of ignorant voters. He would never have been considered for president if people actually took the time to research his racist views.
His affiliations, along with his racist comments in his books were more than enough to disqualify him with most voters.
I don't think saying that the Constitution wasn't written for the benefit of Black people is being racist. He was telling the truth.
I don't think stating that America has a long history of racial oppression is being racist. It's just being honest.
I don't think writing a book that discusses the problems this country faces and pointing out how at each step along the way those in power have done little to live up to the ideal of "a more perfect union" particularly along racial lines is being racist. It's again being honest and forthright.
Of course, anyone who thinks their White privilege is under assault would naturally think in terms of protecting their position of social status and assail anything that hints at moving them down that social ladder of justice and equality.
Just saying...self preservation is the first line of self-defense.
