Woman dies after being forcibly removed from hospital

One word....

Obamacare!

Damn, I just ran across an article that is talking about 100 million health care accounts that were hacked through the Obamacare health system.

Question- before OC how many people had no heath care?
Next one- Before OC how many people did not receive or could afford proper health care.
Next one- How many people were bankrupted by medical expenses?

That's a sore one for me.

Requiring patent records be handed over into a universal system should be criminal.

As for this woman, I'll bet she died because of a combination of her obesity, and a panic attack. Sometimes, there is nothing that can be done for people who don't take care of themselves. On this assumption, I think the hospital and police will be cleared of wrongdoing.

I've seen someone have a panic attack before. She probably feared for her life, and again, nothing they could do for her.

Doesn't matter. It is wrong to try to fix all problems, not caring about the concerns of those paying for it.

This country is becoming more and more authoritarian, and will be the doom of us.

Access to basic health care is not a minor problem.

Access to basic health care is not a minor problem.

There are ways of providing basic health care without the idiotic overhaul of Obamacare.

Nt the questions I asked. you are a very informed person, I am sure you have a better answer.

Bud, this thread isn't about Ocare.

There is no "Obamacare health system", and the govt run exchanges do not store any patient health care info

I think you're correct. Aren't they are required to upload it to some huge government database?

I don't care if that was your question. I will only touch on Obamacare because this thread isn't about it.

fact is, we didn't need this sweeping legislation. It's pathetic that the democrats rammed it down our throats without a single republican vote.

Democrats should be ashamed, but they are proud instead, of their authoritarian capacity.

I have said on numerous occasions that the autopsy will show what she died from. Being morbidly obese and in consideration of all evidence present...it's a fair assumption. But as has been said numerous times....we'll see.

FWIW, the autopsy said blood clot in the lungs. Medical Examiner: Woman Died of Blood Clot to Lungs

Details from an autopsy reveal Dawson died from a blood clot in the lung.

The hospital says tests were run on Dawson before she was told to leave and subsequently arrested.

Officials could not say whether any of the tests would have detected the clot.

"This is very difficult to detect, and almost impossible to treat," said Ruth Attaway, Hospital CEO. "It's usually immediate and often fatal."

Entirely unlikely (virtually impossible) that she was experiencing an embolism in the hospital or that it was the resenting problem. Much more likely it occurred because she resisted leaving the hospital. Not without sympathy, but it's unlikely a Med review bird finds anything to act on.

Obesity the national plague is the reason she kicked off. She never game a damn about her health so why should anyone care? Could she spell "diet"?

I find this kind of slanted. ONLY, because we are basically forced to carry healthcare now whether we feel we need it or not so of course more people have healthcare.
I still can't afford my work place's healthcare. I also can't afford the tax penalty at the end of each year for not carrying healthcare.
I could afford the $15 deductible for my County Health Alliance that I was perfectly happy with before the misnamed ACA.
People are still being bankrupted by medical expenses. The ACA did not erase anyone's debts.

There are a few (and I haven't read the entire Stephen King plus sized document, in this regard I'm no better than our representatives) good things in the ACA such as not being turned down for existing conditions, those who are without work being able to get healthcare (assuming their medical conditions don't prevent them from getting to a computer to do so), and probably some other good things. Your examples are completely misinformed, however, as someone who is a first hand result of this new forced healthcare.
A healthcare system that does away with the notion that someone has the right to profit off of the healthcare needs of the American people (i.e. big pharma, big hospital, insurance companies themselves) is what is needed. The ACA doesn't even tap the surface of this issue.

To be fair, the ACA also had no affect, good or bad, on this patient as she was released and thought to be in "fair" condition.

No, that was one of the myths invented by right-wing bloggers. Jesus Christ the things people still believe.

Not entirely sure they discharged her because they could not do anything more or because they misdiagnosed her.

But when the patient dies then it certainly was not a success story.

Everyone born dies, many do so in hospitals - the success rate is ultimately ZERO. ;)

LOL...

You must love the fact that they had to pass the bill to see what's in the bill.

You guys still don't know what you are championing.

I'm entirely certain I have a much better understanding of what I'm championing than you do of what you're denouncing.

Thank you for the honest reply.
