Trump said:
We're losing a lot of people because of the internet," Trump said. "We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people.

This guy is a straight up gift to the DNC. With every asinine quote that gets out, he gains more and more traction. Why would the GOP associate themselves with such a pig-headed narcissist? I mean... really?

This is up there with Carson's Hummus and Star of David nonsensense.

We, on this site, tend to be more intelligent than most and have a basic to advanced understanding regarding how computer technology actually works. For the average person, what Trump said makes a great deal of sense even if its grossly inaccurate and near impossible to do.

If he wants results in this area he should call Al Gore.

How is it impossible? Cuba and China seem to be doing a fine job at limiting it. The only question is to what extent...
Maybe it is only the countries that start with a "C"...

They are doing it by basically outlawing encryption and other quite scary activities.

The media is using the same low class tactics they used to discredit Sarah Palin; misquotes portrayed as direct quotes.
It worked so well against Palin that they're doing it against Trump.
How many people still believe Palin said, "I can see Russia from my house"?

Funny how you quote what he did say and then go on to laugh about something he didn't say. The MSM does the same thing with regularity. It's why no one is listening to the MSM either.

Maybe he will get Larry Ellison to build his Muslim database? ;) Sadly, Trump almost certainly believes his rhetoric and, worse, his core followers do, as well. As a candidate who shows little willingness to respect the Constitution's basic principles, a willingness to impose "religious tests," etc., he should not be under consideration for the nomination of any serious political party.

Pssssshh. Who needs Bill Gates to close up the internets? Just pour some super-glue into those interconnected tubes and they'll clog right up.

The GOP is associating itself with him? Funny, I keep hearing the opposite. The GOP is already talking about a brokered convention to NOT associate with him.

He certainly is entertaining, I have to give him that.

Ugh, I can't believe how many people still think she said that. I had a fight with a Liberal friend recently who SWORE to me she actually heard her say it. I told her that she heard Tina Fey say it, and she gave me a blank, dumb, Liberal stare.

No, both Cuba and China have not been able to stop dissidents from communicating on the Internet. They have discouraged those who are not as determined but I don't think ISIS fits that description

A brokered convention wouldn't bar Trump, so i'm not sure what you mean.

In a cringe-worthy kind of way.

Lol. Perfectly sums it up; if a comedian says it, most liberals believe it. Jon Stewart was the only source of "news" that most democrat voters got for years.
These are the kind of people who think movies are real too.

A brokered convention would certainly make it very difficult for Trump to win the nomination. It almost worked in 1976.

The GOP doesn't want him.

True, more than anything it was sarcasm and directed to the stupidity of Trump.
