Latest pictures show Isil training camp in Afghanistan - Telegraph

Hooded terrorists pose with handguns and rocket-propelled grenade launchers. They wear camouflage print and the black flag of jihad flies in the background.

The latest pictures of terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) are familiar except for one twist. They were taken not in the deserts of Syria or Iraq, but in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan, where Isil’s latest “province” spans the border with Pakistan.

Isil has declared the birth of “Wilayat Khorasan” – or Khorasan province – in the area of Afghanistan that was once al-Qaeda’s heartland.

Even if they don't all look like this orchestrated photo, they appear well funded and equipped.

They are well funded. Mainly from oil extraction and transpiration within the regions under their control. We are talking in the hundreds of millions per year.

And they are well equipped. Their weapons, equipment, and vehicles collections are from what they captured in Syria and Iraq. Some of which are US based. There are also plenty of suspicions about ISIS ability to buy additional weapons, ammunition and equipment from the various black markets of the region.

The picture is probably very orchestrated, but we know enough about ISIS to know they have ideological motivation. Which is usually more than enough to consider them as something other than random "bunch of goat herders."

Can you predict the future?

I hate to break it too you but 2/3rds of the world hate Americans, why do you think that is?

Apparently they hate the Russians and Chinese too. They'll need luck.

So why not send a fleet of drones to erase them. Why wait for the pimple to grow to an open wound and then a cancer. Isn't this the purpose the drone fleet was deployed for initially?

You mean a nice clean drone fleet where you can pretend you didn't get blood on your hands? You think that'll root them all out of the mud huts?

they'll need luck right because we'll slaughter their entire race if they even try and mess wit us yay america lol........... belch

You arent supposed to be 'afraid'. You are supposed to be 'aware'. Those individuals you scoff at will go on to join those that commit the acts of murder shown below. In case you have missed it, they are doing a pretty good business butchering men, women, and children and their goal is take their brand of a fun Friday night on the road.

Islamic State fighters have captured swathes of eastern Afghanistan in a drive to establish a new province of the group’s self-styled caliphate on territory straddling the border with Pakistan.

Up to 1,600 fighters pledging allegiance to Isis are ruling much of four districts south of Jalalabad

eastern Afghanistan

A camp may have already been set up in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, with supporters tweeting out images of it, the Long War Journal added.

Daesh was thought to have taken advantage of a splintered Taliban force, whose leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was reportedly injured in Pakistan last week.

But yesterday he released a rare audio recording in which he denied claims he was wounded in a shootout during a meeting with other commanders.

The withdrawal of Western armies is also thought to played a part in Daesh deciding to expand.

The United States confirmed it was monitoring the situation in the country, with local troops thought to be overwhelmed.
‘We are aware of the presence of Isil-affiliated militants in Afghanistan, and we are monitoring closely to see whether their emergence will have a meaningful impact on the threat environment
Isis just spread to Afghanistan and now has '1,600 militants there' | Metro News

Well, we could show you graphic images of decapitated bodies, crucifixions and advanced military hardware if you'd rather.

These guys could be anybody anywhere. Oh wait, I recognize the bark on those trees, yep, that's definitely Afghanistan.

Given the size of ISIL held territory, isn't it a cancer already?
Given the in country terrorist attacks ISIL has supported and / or inspired, isn't this a cancer that's malignant and spreading the world over?

Yes, most certainly something to be aware of.

Small groups of disciplined and highly motivated fighters can accomplish far more than what some will give them credit for. This is well known throughout history: Battle of Thermopylae for example. 300 Spartans were the linchpin of a force that held off a Persian army 10 times their size.

Just consider the trouble that would be caused should ISIL decide to expand into, and topple Pakistan, for instance. Taking control of the Paki nukes.
