We have a rule at our house, "If you think that you should do something, then you should do something." When the neighbor few houses down started getting a lot of late night visitors just dropping by while the guy living there left for bit and when he came back, the visitor left, we didn't figure the neighbor had a late night Tupperware re-selling business, we figured that he was selling drugs. A phone call to his landlord and local PD and he went away. When the ex-con, WP, POS moved in a few doors the other direction and set up his house as a playground for preteen boys, we went house to house and let all our neighbors know that things looked sketchy, we didn't assume that he was just a friendly guy and the check on sexual offenders in our area proved us right.
