Donald Trump's 95-Minute Rant

This one will hurt him.
Unless they're able to pull something better than "Trump thinks Americans are stupid" out of it, I really doubt it will hurt him much.

Carson's a joke too, and yet they're leading the GOP field. I sure hope primary voters get their heads screwed on straight because they really might end up having to run one of those buffoons.

Carson would listen to his advisors. Trump won't. Carson...despite being a religious person (which is apparently a huge problem for liberals)...is a serious candidate. I don't think he can win either though.

For an hour and 35 minutes, Republican front-runner Donald Trump vented about everything that's wrong with this country and this election. Gone was the candidate's recent bout of composure and control on the campaign trail. He said he would "bomb the ****" out of areas controlled by ISIS and that he knows more about terrorists than U.S. military generals. He ranted about how everyone else is wrong on illegal immigration. He accused Hillary of playing the "woman's card," and said Marco Rubio is "weak like a baby." And he spent more than 10 minutes angrily attacking his chief rival, Ben Carson, at one point calling "pathological, damaged."

And yet Carson is doing well in the polls, Trump said in disbelief. "How stupid are the people of Iowa? How stupid are the people of the country to believe this crap?"

The ironic part is that Trump is heavily dependent on those "stupid people" to be where he is currently. The Republican front-runner, ladies and gentlemen.

That's great stuff. I get why he is in the lead. If you don't, go listen to a speech by Jeb. Or Carson. Or Hillary for that matter. Zzzzzzz

Again...no serious voter would vote for him.

Yeah. While recognizing that it is a bit circular, I'm pretty comfortable with declaring that anyone who votes for Trump isn't a serious voter by definition.

I followed the link. Nothing Trump hasn't said before and he's on top of the polls. The usual bombast and it's working.

Trump stated that Iowa voters (whom he needs) are stupid, and then he compared Ben Carson to Child Molesters and implied maybe he should be killed.

Even the crowds' response was awkward, and clearly uncomfortable. Those were Trump fans who were there to be jazzed up about Trump..... and that was too much for them.

If being "religious" were a problem, Obama wouldn't have won.

It's not so early anymore and serious voters are already intending to vote for him. Maybe not YOU, but despite how you feel, yours is not the sole serious opinion out there. And the media covers the frontrunner more than the also rans, that's always been the case.

Obama supporters still get denigrated by a comment taken out of context from someone that was barely associated with the Obama administration because THAT GUY called some American voters stupid. The only reason that this comment may not hurt Trump's polling is because the morons supporting Trump are idiotic enough to think it is everyone else in Iowa/the Country that is stupid.

So its ok for you to call voters stupid but not for Trump to do it. Got it. This wont hurt him a bit. Why? Because the only ones offended are those who are looking to be offended. And those types of people are liberals who weren't going to support him anyway.

In case the distinction wasn't obvious, I am not running for President.

Trump is back in the Media spotlight and center stage, ergo his speech is a trememdous success. Do you realize how much the other accolytes will have to spend to get a similar Media response. Once again, he's outfoxed the Repug rubes.

Whats obvious is that you have just pointed out what makes Trump so popular--he says what everyone else is thinking but what no other politician will say. That makes him refreshing and interesting. After all, you don't see anyone posting links to anything Hillary has to say. Or just about anyone else for that matter. Trump, while he may not win and would probably be a disaster if he did, is doing the world a great service. He is preventing a Bush v Clinton race in 2016. Everyone should be thanking him for that.

I'm not so sure he needs Iowa, will. Look at the last few caucuses. The winner in Iowa went nowhere fast afterwards.

I don't plan to vote for him, but I also don't think this will sink him. I'm going to guess some idiots gun owners who also are religious ended up voting for that fool in the Oval Office today even after he denigrated them.

Oh I agree it will probably not hurt him.

I remember in 1968 George Wallace said all manner of things that disgusted many people - but he still won five states on election day.

The extremist assholes cannot be offended by the same stuff that offends decent normal people.

No one should be offended by what he said. It was a poor choice of words, but nothing more. He should have said "How stupid does Carson think we are?" rather than "how stupid are the people of Iowa." But who cares? Its a meaningless slipup for a guy who rambles on unfiltered without notes.

True dat.

At what point can I laugh at the right wing people who take most opportunities to complain about political correctness in the US?

Ever notice how it is a constant criticism of Ben Carson? Why?

Because he keeps saying ludicrous things such as that Joseph built the pyramids for the Egyptians to store grain in.

That's a really stupid thing to say. That would be the most inefficient expenditure of resources and energy the world, nay galaxy, has seen. All evidence we have also says it is false. There's no way it's true, but he says he believes it. No different than claiming that the moon is really made of cheese.

"Hope and change" was rather foolish but it simply doesn't stack up to Carson's absurdities.

A 2011 Gallup poll had 90% of Americans saying they believed in God. The notion that "the left" doesn't like Carson because he is religious is demonstrably false.

(The lies and/or inexplicable inaccuracies he's told haven't helped either)

Is that as ludicrous as claiming to have had conversations with long-dead historical figures?

Ben Carson's Response: Pray for Trump.

U.S. presidential candidate Ben Carson recommended praying for rival Donald Trump after the real-estate mogul and television personality, in a 95-minute rant in Iowa, likened him to a child molester, Carson's business manager said on Friday.

"When I spoke with Dr. Carson about this yesterday how we should respond, you know he was so sad about it. He said: "Pray for him." He feels sorry for him because he really likes Mr. Trump," Armstrong Williams, who often acts as Carson's surrogate in the media, told CNN.

Romans 12:

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly;[f] do not claim to be wiser than you are. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. 18 If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 No, “if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
