U.S. delivers 50 tons of ammunition to Syria rebel groups

I have. All alternatives just seem worse. Did you ever look at the video of that FSA rebel eating the heart or liver of a Syrian soldier?

The "moderate rebels" are just fronts for Al-Qaeda and ISIS. I guarantee at least 49 tons of the 50 tons of ammunition will fall into the hands of ISIS and/or Al-Qaeda. That's the Minimum.

I think ISIS rebels like their humvees. I think it is probably because ISIS types don't believe in Christmas anyway that the CIA decided to give them their presents early.

Silly comments by the OP aside, I can't believe Obama and co are continuing this failed policy.

And for some reason when soldiers invaded/liberated Iraq, some only had a magazine per rifle of ammunition, no body armor or night vision.

Giving arms to anyone in this region is just asking for trouble. It's more or less a gang turf war going on over there and no matter who wins, the guns still wind up in the hands of gang bangers.

Well, there is the Free Syrian Army...but apparently, they are now so small as to be basically an afterthought.

But I agree with you...there are, for all intents and purposes, no moderates any longer. It's either extremist Muslims who HATE America and will probably kill every Christian they can get their hands on...or Assad.

Me? I will take the lesser of two evils (Assad) in a heartbeat.

Like it or not, Obama is helping people that if they got into power would be FAR more hostile to America then Assad ever was.

If he was smart, he would stop supporting anti-Assad forces completely. And if he were really smart, he would secretly tell Putin he will not obstruct his support of Assad.

I find it easy to believe. They support the GWOT, and this is part of the GWOT. A perpetual state of war is the goal--it's good for business.

Why would you need any of that when you're welcomed as liberator?

Yup, because no one else had ammo in the region. And leave it to you, I tried to make everyone happy by going as neutral with that statement as possible, but you made sure to use the powers of the internet to **** on my statement. Thanks.

Geez, don't take it personal. People can't mock Cheney around here? Is he a hunting buddy of yours? Watch your face.

Well if we didn't keep stirring up trouble over there, where would all of the new immigrants to Europe come from?
If you read comments on news articles of European newspapers, many people remark that overthrowing Saddam Hussein, Gaddhafi and all those Arab springs brought us nothing but immigrants.

Ha. The sad thing though, is that a certain percentage of people think that's a good thing.

:lamo

This is such a ****ed up situation in Syria right now. All you can do is laugh.

Who's side are we on again?

That NATO base in Incirlik is the preciousssss for NATO.
Shoulda carved out a new Kurdistan when they had the chance.

With the admission of failure of the Pentagon plan to arm the “moderate rebels” – a term not usually put in quotes in the media before this week (though the adjective moderate is obviously subjective) – came this October 9th article by Michael Shear, Helene Cooper and Eric Schmitt of the New York Times entitled “Obama Administration Ends Effort to Train Syrians to Combat ISIS“. In this article the term “Syrian Arab Coalition” is first introduced (complete with quotes).

Case Study In Rebranding: “Syrian Arab Coalition”

This comes together with recent news that the source of Toyota's in ISIS hands has been explained: the US delivered them themselves to Al Nusra, and they "found their way" to ISIS.
