TEAMSTERS OFFICIALS WANT TO MEET WITH DONALD TRUMP!

Teamsters officials met behind closed doors today. The union refused to endorse Hillary Clinton for president.
The officials told FOX News they want to meet with Donald Trump.
James Rosen reported:

FOX News has learned exclusively the 26 member board decided unanimously to withhold a presidential endorsement… Union executives told me they want to sit down with Republican candidates, most noatably, front-runner Donald Trump who has collaborated with unionized work forces across his real estate career.

This can't be true, has anyone read this anywhere else. When's the last time a union paid any attention to a Republican?

[Skeptical] - I suspect this is more about sending a message to the Democrats than it is about some sort of interest in the Republicans.

I can only find right leaning news / commentary sites covering this so far, but I'll continue to look around. Perhaps the finance and market sites might pick the story up.

Hillary has now announced that she is in favor of removing the "tax" on the "Cadillac" Health Insurance Policies that some Unions have negotiated for their members. :kissass

Frankly, I don't want him to be a "Repub" at this stage but, he is someone who has dealt with unions through his entire career.

yep and trump isn't going to get screwed over and lay down like democrats do.
he will actually protect the taxpayer interest than just giving unions what they want.

I feel that unions are good and work well with business when they are working together with business.
the current unions do not do that.

they are greedy and push companies out of the US with their unrealistic demands.
trump knows how to deal with these people and isn't one to be pushed around.

That should actually count against him.. and his 4+ bankruptcies.. I mean how the hell does a casino go bankrupt!!???? it is a freaking license to print money!

the same way any business goes bankrupt. of course most of those were in atlantic city and that place as been on the downfall for a while.
trump isn't the only person to have his casino go under.

Ask Caesars Entertainment, the largest casino company in the United States. They just declared bankruptcy in January.

Ask all of the non-Trump owned casinos in Atlantic City that went bankrupt, including Revel, after only a few short years. Ask Showboat. Ask Claridge. Ask the Castaways in Las Vegas.

Other than '76, when they stayed neutral, the Teamsters supported Republicans for 20 years (1972-1992) - so, it's been a while, but it's not too out of the ordinary.

I didn't say anything about anyone hiding from creditors. You asked about casinos going bankrupt. It is more common than you apparently realized.

But if you dislike bankruptcies and are against them, as I am, then you must dislike Elizabeth Warren too. She made her career teaching attorneys how to make bankruptcy easy. No, it isn't just for the privileged. In 2014 there were almost 1 million bankruptcies filed in this country.

Their endorsement is meaningless if it's an automatic given for Democrats. This is a gentle reminder that it is not.

They are, in effect, saying, "What have you done for us lately?"

True, and I see it as a reaction to Clinton's Cadillac comments, but suspect some promises made by Trump, behind closed doors of course.
But this is only a guess. In a way, both Clinton and Trump are masters of manipulation.
Here we sit, watching our future unfold.

as I understand it, most labor unions tend to be strongly anti-illegal immigration. since trump has been the loudest about being tough on illegal immigration, it makes sense they might want to sit down with him to see what else he might have to offer, especially if they find the field of democratic candidates to be weak. I gotta say though, it seems pretty obvious to me that if there's any presidential candidate that would most align with their interests it would be Bernie sanders. he's the most likely to help protect/strengthen union interests (well he and jim webb - my personal favorite - but he's still polling at 1% and isn't viable...yet).
