Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) on Monday refused to apologize for invoking the specter of the Holocaust in his criticism of President Barack Obama's nuclear deal with Iran.

"Three times I've been to Auschwitz. When I talked about the oven door, I have stood at that oven door. I know exactly what it looks like -- 1.1 million people killed," Huckabee, a 2016 presidential candidate, said in an appearance on Fox News' "The Five."

OMG another B-----t crazyGOP'r. What he doesn't realize is that for every evangelical vote he siphons off Carson or Cruz he loses 10 American Jewish votes.

Mike Huckabee Will Not Apologize For Holocaust Remark

Whether you like him or not, Huckabee speaks forthrightly and from the heart. If he wants to draw an analogy between Auschwitz (and Treblinka and too many other concentration camps) and the potential consequences of Obama's deal with Iran, that's fine with me.

He may give others pause for thought, and the good news is that whether it's Huckabee or any other candidate, voters can think for themselves.

So did Hitler. Now complain about things being Godwined.

I don't believe I've ever posted about Godwin's Law, Hatuey.

And comparing Huckabee to Hitler doesn't really work--there has to be more similar than dissimilar for a comparison or analogy to work.

That wasn't the point. The point is that whether a person is "speaking from the heart" or not is irrelevant to the stupidity of the things they're saying. However, if you want to talk about Godwin's law and your use of it:

I like the first reader comment: "You missed a question Zippy. Who is more open-minded: the man who violates Godwin's law on a continual basis or the one who refrains from simplistic caricatures?"

I'd appreciate your providing a little evidence to support your claim that this Pope "consistently defends pedophile behaviors." Then maybe you can explain what the "Nun revolution"--whatever that is--has to do with pedophilia. Godwin points for bringing up the Inquisition, though.

"Reich-winger" really is offensive, and I don't think anybody deserves to have such a term used against him or her. Just maybe, it might be okay to accept that others have differing views (obviously wrong, of course, LOL, if they disagree with yours) without resorting to a Godwin.

Ah okay, so a deal between countries is comparable to what happened at Auschwitz even though they are entirely dissimilar BUT comparing people to Hitler doesn't work because you get to pick and choose which qualities can be compared? Is that what you're getting at? I think you missed the point of my statement. It doesn't matter whether a person is "speaking from the heart". That's some silly bull**** copout adults use to avoid having to address the meaning behind their words. Huckabee said something stupid. Instead of trying to shield the stupidity behind some feel good group of sentences, just call it stupid and move the hell on. People say things "from the heart" every damn day, it doesn't mean that what they're saying is right or correct.

Huckabee's a circus clown on his best day and on his worst day he's.........................

Well then, when Mike Huckabee speaks from the heart he looks like an opportunist asshole. To say Jews are being marched to the oven door is the lowest form of hyperbole.

Yeah, that had to leave a mark...

Geraldo Rivera is a worthless journalist. He literally told a political candidate that he loved him and would vote for him. How is that unbiased Fox News reporting?

From the OP's link:

Geraldo Rivera, one of the show's hosts, pushed back on the comparison.

"I love you. You would be a great president," Rivera said. "You have the temperance. You have the experience. But as a Jew -- and I have to tell you, with people who work in the Anti-Defamation League and relatives on both sides, it was inappropriate. There are some places you cannot go."

It appears nota bene can't remember what he posted. How embarrassing. PUI?

Yuckabee isn't the only GOP leader pushing these Hitleresque remarks.
The whole GD party has gone to hell trying to outdo each other.

What does it tell you when the Anti-Defamation League slams these remarks while remaining opposed to the Iran deal ?

Iran gets a nuclear bomb within two months without a deal--unless GOPs start another Mideast War.
There is no middle ground, as GOPoliticians, GOPosters and the Bibis claim.
When all living foreign ambassadors to Israel support the deal, maybe you should take pause for thought.

The Moderate Israelis and Jewish-Americans are simply too afraid to speak openly against the Bibi/GOP radicals.
That includes Jewish Dems like Schumer and DWS.

And how about the Pontius Pilate sewage from Cotton the seditionist about Kerry?
Or the GOP enemies from within continuing to call Obama the greatest supporter of terrorism.

I really can't believe you would support these people .

I saw the interview, and Gov Huckabee was amazingly arrogant, selfish, and tone deaf!

He's got a Jew telling him he's wrong, and then the Jew is further telling him the ADL has come-out against him - and the arrogant pig-headed S.O.B. is still going on rebutting him, saying that he knows more about what offends the Jews than the Jews (in the ADL)! And then if that's not enough, the goofy born-again Christian then claims he's speaking for the 'other' Jews and knows what's best for them!

Huh?

I couldn't make stuff like this up if I wrote for SNL!

You could see the desperation of his fearing for his campaign possibly facing an existential threat during his rebuttal in the way he just kept talking on & on over everyone - this is all about self-centered greed that knows not the lowest shred of decency. These guys really have no bottom level!

And what is this recent playbook over the past several years of never admitting fault & asking forgiveness, but rather doubling & tripling down?

Who are these guys playing to?

Oh, Yuckabee, I get it. Oh so clever....

Really, stupid comments like that put you on about the same level as Huckabee and Trump, only knowing how to insult what others do, dragging the level of discourse down.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like Hitler, so the saying goes.

These guys have absolutely zero shame.

So did Hitler. Now complain about things being Godwined.

Why would you compare Mike Huckabee, who is strongly denouncing the Nazi extermination camps, to Adolf Hitler, who strongly approved of them? Does it peeve you that someone dared suggest that the men who rule Iran are belligerent, Jew-hating Islamists? Maybe you imagine that if your president only kisses these bastards' backsides enough, they will like us.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like Hitler, so the saying goes.

I don't think that's how it goes..................

Why would you compare Mike Huckabee, who is strongly denouncing the Nazi extermination camps, to Adolf Hitler,

Because Huckabee is comparing Obama to Hitler.
Pretty sick don't you think ?

He saw the success that ol' Donny had by not backing down from inflammatory comments and thought that is the only chance he gets any media time so he stuck with what he said. Sad that you have to be a raving lunatic to have a chance now a days.

Actually I got Yuckabee from TD in an upstairs post.
But, "what difference does it make" to you Redress when you so rarely post to me unless it's to say I make a "stupid comment".

This is the type of lib/prog malaise from your crowd that gave us the 2010 and 2014 disastrous elections and this ass clown bus of GOPs.
Don't fight back at your President being tarred-and-feathered for 7 years though--just keep on getting "Willie Hortoned".

Who do you think you've always been in my 30 months on DP to pass judgement on me as an "unacceptable liberal" with the moronic nonsense you post ?

If thinking that discussing politics should be more than mindless name calling is malaise, then I will wear the label with pride. And if you actually think the results of 2010 and 2014 happened because democrats did not make enough mindless insults, then you might want to do some actual research.

Its the fault of liberals and progressives that the GOP has gone bat **** crazy? Really seriously that is to funny:lamo
