Allowing a far away dictator to censor free expression is a real problem.

What's more pathetic about this, that it was likely an inside job and everyone from sony to the fbi/white house falsely accused north korea, or that audiences flooded the theaters to "support free speech" of a REDACTED version meant to appease north korea?

Given the extreme lack of R rated films anymore, i'd say it's hollywood that's guilty of censorship in general far more than the hackers of this one crap movie

Last I heard, a language translator identified the wording to be more typical for a russian speaker.

Which is why the whole internet attack farce was created in the first place, to have an excuse to go direct to PPV.

The North Koreans cannot conceive a comedy film, all they have ever seen in film and on what TV they have has been military propaganda. the do not and cannot make a distinction between a private film and government policy. To them, this is a provocation, a US threat to assassinate "dear leader"

Also you have to realize "Dear Leader" leads nothing. He is a puppet of the military comintang, allowed certain freedoms of whim, but a figurehead without real power.

Looked it up ... I might visit that site from time to time.... Checked the date on the article.. roughly the same time I started adding things up to a questionable sum...

They look deep enough an inside job will be found, give it time ... Ad Men like to boast.

The article does, for certain, verify a higher truth... that being:

Actually, it's a little reassuring for me to see I'm not alone in what I see as reasonable suspicion.

May as well be laughing with them.

His "freedoms of whim" include executing family members and their families.

They called Obama a monkey and threatened reprisals for the release when Sony announced it. The fact that they could do nothing is not suspicious to me. You didn't know their threats are empty?

It's astounding what people will believe without question. opensource malware, random ip's, and now even the origional note has fake "kongrish" demanding a ransom. Only later did it morph into a threat from the NORKS...

"We’ve got great damage by Sony Pictures.
The compensation for it, monetary compensation we want.
Pay the damage, or Sony Pictures will be bombarded as a whole.
You know us very well. We never wait long.
    You’d better behave wisely.
    From God’sApstls"

note the fake bad english, not how this went from blackmail to international incident.
