How many more things is our government doing behind closed doors that it should never be doing? I suspect that for every instance we hear about that they probably have a dozen other things we are never aware of. At what point do we stop giving the government a pass and demand something better? For me that time came a long time ago.

What people do not realize is that we are a very complicated and advanced country. We're not just the simple wild wild west with guns a blaze'n, run next door and borrow some sugar from your neighbor anymore. People need to realize that the government will continue to grow to support its needs. It's that simple. Like the country itself, the government will not stop growing just because of a bunch of angry white people are yelling about it. It's really a waste of energy.
The country/government is a big company. It's not just going to stop growing and morphing.

The heavily-redacted documents were released in response to a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union under the Freedom of Information Act. Many of these privacy violations have been previously reported on, but these documents show new specifics. A series of annual and quarterly reports from 2001 through the second quarter of 2013 are now available for perusal, and they cover some of the NSA's greatest hits: stalking potential romantic partners, a practice apparently so common it's been nicknamed LOVEINT; erroneously targeting US citizens for spying; database queries that returned queries on US citizens who weren't targeted; storage of data on servers "not authorized" to hold it; and access by people without security clearance to — well, to something; the specifics were redacted......snip~

Looks like we were given a present and not to many knew about it. What say ye?
It makes me wonder why there were so many Republicans celebrating and cheering when the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. ACT was passed. All that "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about" and "you're either with us or against us" and "if you question anything the government does then the terrorists win". Republicans certainly were quiet or celebratory when people tried to warn them about government abuse of power then.

This is why you always keep the government from putting their foot in the door. But Republicans are such short-sighted hypocrites that they pushed through all the government's ability to engage in these abuses: all while claiming that the government should be kept small.

I'm not to worried about it, after the next world war we'll be back to fighting with sticks and swords anyway.

That seems to be the way human civilization goes....we have a great expanse of knowledge and wondrous cities for a while, then self-imposed calamity sends us back into the dark ages for a few thousand years, then rise of knowledge again. Although, it seems that every-time we reach that technological peek, we advance further than the previous iteration. I would love to be alive during the next peek when we go to the moon "for the first time" and discover we were already there.

That should tell you, what you thought you knew about Republicans.....just wasn't enough for you to be in the knowing.

Don't worry Jerry. I have preserved the Riddle of Steel for eternity. Although, some of the writings and drawings might be explained that they came from Extraterrestrials. Or construed as the Word.

And Democrats. Lots of them cheered for that Act also.
