DIA: North Korea Planned Attacks on US Nuclear Plants
Five commando units trained for strikes, sabotage

North Korea dispatched covert commando teams to the United States in the 1990s to attack nuclear power plants and major cities in a conflict, according to a declassified Defense Intelligence Agency report.

The DIA report, dated Sept. 13, 2004, reveals that five units of covert commandos were trained for the attacks inside the country.
According to the report, the “Reconnaissance Bureau, North Korea, had agents in place to attack American nuclear power plants.”

It was important to make it easier for North Korean's to get into the USA via Cuba. Blowing up a couple American nuclear power plants is due punishment for the evil colonialism of the USA in the view of some American apologists. Obama will make the USA pay for the evils of our country's past.
 
North Korea is well aware that such an attack would result in their own destruction.

Kick a grizzly bear in the nuts, and it will suffer tremendous pain. It's the part that comes after you should worry about.

Thats nice but you are trying to assign rational thought to a nation thats been brainwashed and is led by an irrational dictator. Im frankly more concerned about what they can do (and have) vs what they may or may not think about it.

Perhaps all this recent Noko acting out with sony is designed to get our weak leader to cave. Who knows, he appeases like its cool.

Their plan seems to have fizzled since this was in the 90's, no nuclear facilities have been hit, we seem to be quite aware of it. I mean, am I supposed to freak out because NK failed at an attempt at sabotage? They're still around, they're likely still as incompetent, and if we caught them with 90's security, well we got the 2014 level of ultra "security" now.

NK is as impotent as ever, all it can do is run its mouth and pay hackers to force Sony not to release movies. Now if they force Sony to stop making PlayStation, there may be an issue.

Above all else, dictators seek to maintain their power. The quickest way to lose power is to make a drone-happy United States pissed off.

Your partisan impression of Obama's behavior isn't even worth discussing. To you, anything short of carpet bombing civilian populations is "appeasement."

They know they can do whatever they want, and our chump POTUS wont do a thing. They see whats happening in Cuba, Iran, in Ukraine, and Russia. They see Islamic terrorism flourishing. Can you blame them for being able to read whats so obvious? The US has a weak leader, and so the unsavory characters in the world will play.

And its a strawman to say that because I resent our weak and ineffective foreign policy that I support carpet bombing of civilians.

Did you guys not read that NK had nothing to do with the Sony hack, it was a disgruntled former employee with knowledge of the internal server structure.

Seriously, NK can barely keep the lights on in most cities, Nevermind the technological infrastructure to pull off highly sophisticated cyber attacks.

The only reason they don't get smacked down is for the simple reason that there aren't even enough resources there to justify... And they do have the military to destroy a good chunk of South Korea. Seriously, they can't even keep the Internet up and running in the country.

The evidence suggests that Sony knew the interview was going to flop and figurines they could sucker people into watching a bad movie.

Btw, spoofing location data is among the easier parts of what a hacker would do to avoid being identified and caught.

Are they aware? It's not like Obama has acted like he actually has a set of balls. He's literally bacled down from every single confrontation he's been in. The nutjobs of the world are watching that and probably aren't the least bit afraid of retaliation.

The USA has contingency plans for attacks on everybody and everything. That is what
full spectrum dominance translates to. That means there are USA plans to attack North
Korean Nuke Plants and also German Nuke Plants, and also Canadian Nuke Plants. The
Military feels this improves their flexibility and response and somebody in this Nation,
usually called the TransNational Corportions, get paid to propose alternative problems
and alternative solutions. So how is it if the North Koreans do this, it is bad, but if we

Also true that it's okay for North Korea to PLAN a contingency. I think this news source was trying to stir the pot.
