What kind of proof are you looking for?

In the initial stages of the war on terror, the Central Intelligence Agency, under George Tenet, was rising to prominence as the lead agency in the Afghanistan war. But when Tenet insisted in his personal meetings with President Bush that there was no connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq, V.P. Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld initiated a secret program to re-examine the evidence and marginalize the CIA and Tenet. The questionable intelligence acquired by this secret program was "stovepiped" to the vice president and presented to the public. In some cases, Cheney’s office would leak the intelligence to reporters, where it would be reported by outlets such as The New York Times. Cheney would subsequently appear on the Sunday political television talk shows to discuss the intelligence, referencing The New York Times as the source to give it credence.[18]
I can't prove that Cheney is evil, since that would require functional knowledge of Cheney's mind. That part is admittedly my opinion. I can only prove that Cheney wanted war in Iraq, and manipulated intelligence and the perceptions of the American people to this end.

Mr Cheney is certainly entitled to his opinion, but a lot of people on this planet, including me, don't agree and would like to see him put on trial for war crimes.

What do you guys think? Will he ever be VP again?
If Jeb Bush is nominated by the Republicans, Darth Cheney may be the VP, again. Seems Bush+Cheney=Magic, eh?

But you're right--he is in full crisis mode, having to defend torture. At least the media is helping him out.

Do actions speak louder than words? Than thoughts? Can one perceive Cheney's evil by way of his actions and words?

I think so. He has stood for law breaking and torture for many years now, and his actions while in office has followed through with his statements. The proof is in the pudding.

Then don't make the statement the way you did.

I hope that you don't really mean what you've said here and that this is simply Internet bluster. If you do mean it, though, your heart problems are even more severe than Cheney's.

If it were necessary, Barrack Obama would do the same things Bush authorized...and all those soft little fluffy bunnies today that are outraged and personally damaged over this would be justifying it.

Every one has their own opinions. But what I found is there is so much hyperbole on both sides of almost any issue, that both side exaggerate to the nth degree. That the truth is almost always somewhere in the middle. But truth means little to nothing to the very partisans, it is their perceptive of things that count.

I personally believe both Bush and Cheney did what they thought needed to be done at the time without the benefit of hindsight. Whether history will judge them as doing what was right or wrong or someplace in-between remains to be seen. Time will tell.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
