Mr Cheney is certainly entitled to his opinion, but a lot of people on this planet, including me, don't agree and would like to see him put on trial for war crimes.

What do you guys think? Will he ever be VP again?
Think about this for a minute, our tax dollars are helping keep this man alive so he can stir the pot some more. What he might say could piss off people in other countries. He's a fairly dangerous person.

may I ask why you seem to support the application of Ex Post Facto law which resulting in the execution and imprisonments of thousands?
No arguing with that logic. We could bat this around all day and in the end we'd probably agree more than not. But this is precisely the kind of blowback that happens when politicians - not citizens - decide to go to war for bull**** reasons. It's all politicized from its inception.

We don't know exactly WTF the CIA was trying to find out. We don't. How urgent was the need for intel? We don't know. What kind of intel? We don't really know?

If America had not been conned into the invasion of Iraq on dubious justifications (plural, as the mission changed often) we might not have been discussing this as we are today. But the mission never was "Kill and conquer", which the US military would have done without question. It was more political than most wars - and they are all political.

I don't know, I still have a bad taste in my mouth from MACV Rules of Engagement. It's even worse now. Now they want Boy Scouts with weapons.

Was the torture productive? Do they know? Are they telling us the truth? I don't know. As I said, we don't know what the hell the CIA was attempting to find out.

The best part about Cheney is that every living liberal quivers in their boots at the mere thought of him. And with his new ticker, he's scarier than ever.

You make an excellent point. It would not surprise me in the least to find that Chickenhawk Dick, "I had other priorities", Cheney's cowboy comments cause more international animosity toward the US than the torture revelations themselves.

This fetish with Cheney is amazing.

No fetish, that chicken**** mother****er is a turd. I'd rather have lunch with Jane ****ing Fonda. Actually, I once refused to take an elevator with Jane Fonda, but that's another story.

... they made a plea deal with MacArthur and Truman. "We'll give you a democratic Great Power ally in East Asia if you let us keep our lives and dignity."

Cheney digging his heels in the sand isn't quite the same.

There is no danger of Dick Cheney ever being VP again in this life time. He was never voted for himself by the American people, but usually appointed to positions....the first GWB administration was stolen via partisan US Supreme Court. Clearly, everyone could see GWB was totally UNqualified to be president....hell, he could barely speak English. He was previously a heavy cocaine user...so much so he damaged his nasal septum; he also was a heavy drinker of hard liquor.

Dick Cheney hijacked the naive GWB admin, and poor Bush jr. never knew what was happening until the sixth year of his presidency. Dick Cheney will never ever admit he made a huge error invading Iraq and the one who authorized the torture program for to admit to such would have him face he's a sinister, thirsty coldblooded monster. Cheney proved he did not have a heart by spearheading the torture regime for those captured.

Re: Dick Cheney Would Torture Again

I do not believe Dick Cheney and those who actually did the torture will ever be prosecuted. President Obama had declined to pursue this course and the Republican's soon to be in control of the Senate and the House would make prosecution a no no event. Dick Cheney is judged in the minds of a significant number of the American public who think he is scum....his nick name is Darth Vader. BTW, because of Dick Cheney, GWB's administration is believed by many to have been the worse in American history.
