Ferguson Protesters Chain Mall Exits Shut

I know that inspires me to really want to listen to their complaints. Actually this pisses me off. We've had couple small "Ferguson protests" here. I've left them alone but next time I may have to go. Maybe it's time for others to stand up to these douchebags. They want a fight? Maybe it's time to give them one.

Acts like in the link of the OP are not helping but actually hurting. They must be following the wrong set of blueprints --- the one's they are following are how to poison the public against their cause.

Protest the rioting protesters with rioting! That's genius! Count me in, assuming you happen to live in Lyons, GA.

Demonstrations like that are doing more harm to the black people who want to protest social injustice than to anyone else.

It does have a certain poetic quality to it doesn't it?

Perhaps these people feel that these protests are the only thing they have left to turn to since they believe that the justice system was rigged.

I think they saw an excuse to riot and loot, but that's just my opinion.

How they feel is real - acting on it by further breaking the law is just stupid. A regret they will have later...

No, if anything they're just pissed that their efforts to rig the justice system through intimidation haven't worked yet.

Some people remember the days where the justice system in the south failed Emmett Till.

Sixty years ago, before civil rights legislation. A hundred years before that, blacks were slaves. Let them protest that, if they want to protest.

That is not the grievance being protested.

What is being protested is the justice system being rigged in favor of the cop, who told a story that turned a delinquent guilty of petty theft into some sort of beast. Wilson says that he heard brown was grunting like some aggressive animal. That sort of description paints the picture of events unfairly.

Hmmm good point, perhaps someone told them they should start engaging in chain mail and they misunderstood.

Too soon?

It seems to me that this case was rigged the other way. If the grand jury found that the cop was telling the truth, they would unleash violence. If they found against the cop, then calm would ensue. How does that not encourage the grand jury to find reason to indict whether it is there or not? It is to their credit that they decided based on facts and evidence, not on politics.

I daresay the vast, vast majority of the people rioting and looting in Ferguson do not remember those days. What happened to Emmett Till was awful and despicable; it also happened in 1955.

Wait....you are not seriously trying to connect the Michael Brown case with Emmett Till, or insinuating that the rioters "remember" Emmett Till? Emmett Till was killed in 1955, almost 60 years ago. Anyone who would be old enough to remember Emmett Till would be in their 80s today. They are not the idiots who are looting and robbing, and in fact, I haven't seen anyone near that age in the protestors that we see on the news.

Emmett Till was killed because he was a black teenager who didn't act according to the codes of society. He was hunted down and brutally murdered by 2 white men. The justice system totally failed him. There isn't a single correlation between Emmett Till's story and Michael Brown's story except that each dead teenager was black and the person/persons responsible for the death was white. And nobody looted and robbed anyone after Till's killers were acquitted.

It is an incredible and ridiculous leap to attempt to connect those 2 cases in any way, not to mention it is disrespectful to the memory and friends and family of Till to compare him in any way to Brown's case.

Monday morning Dec.01 I watched MSNBC in the morning and the question about the presence and timing of the National Guard in Ferguson. This pampering of the rioters rights is disgusting. Question: Why is their no small group of organizers broadcasting throughout the community before the people assemble at night to not harm their own peoples businesses? Don't you think everyone knows the looters always find a "cause" as an excuse to burn and steal? How can this crap be shoved aside as the right to protest when in fact it is nothing to do with the incident or the right to protest?

Yes ... yes I believe he was.
There's a lot of that going around.
Probably watches Sharpton's show.

Even as part of history it's scarcely remembered.

That's a conversation for a different thread. Emmett Till's story shouldn't even be uttered in the same breath as Michael Brown's story, and I can't believe anyone would even attempt to correlate them, or to imply that the rioters, looters and even the protestors today "remember" Emmett Till.
