You do not know what motivated Holder and neither do I, but both he and Obama have acted in racially favorite ways towards black offenders. That is pretty much the bottom line and why the claim of "blatant racial hypocrisy" may actually be valid.

Moon Unit, Bear, Pilot Inspektor, Apple, Moxie CrimeFighter, Aleph, Rocket etc. are all names I've made fun of and guess what? They belong to the children of white people.

Actually according to the articles I've seen, it has been picked up in federal court. Plus I hardly think Holder sticks his nose into every indictment, that doesn't even make sense.

That can be a good thing, conviction rates in federal court are much much higher. I am pro death penalty for sure but I don't see any hypocrisy here compared to similar federal cases.

Can the federal government tell the state (commonwealth) prosecutors what to do or is this simply a case of the feds not pursuing the federal death penalty possibly because the state process is more speedy?

I remember when the idiot John Allen Mohamed was going around the Washington DC area murdering people with a young accomplice then decided to extort the government by offering to stop if they'd wire millions of dollars to bank account he would set up in Jamaica. Of course, the government was able to use that information to track him down and arrest him. I don't recall all the details but then Attorney General John Ashcroft, decided to NOT pursue the full extent of federal legal options because some of the killings took place in Virginia. The Virginia criminal justice system is far for efficient and the guy was executed under the Virginia penal system really fast.

Ashcroft said the decision on where to try the pair was made after "a deliberative, fact-based review of these crimes and the appropriate penalties warranted." He said the decision was intended "to secure justice for these victims."

"We believe the first prosecutions should occur in those jurisdictions that provide the best law, the best facts and the best range of available penalties," Ashcroft said.
