Gallup: Gop congress more popular than obama

#1. There is no 'democrat' party.

#2. I don't know what the Democratic Party thinks, but I believe that if the GOP doesn't do anything about America's immigration problems it will be in big trouble in future elections.

Don't take my word for this, just wait and see. November, 2016 will be here before you know it.

this despite all polling disputing it ?

As it was and ever shall be: "its the economy, stupid:

If the GOP uses that as its campaign slogan in 2016 I predict that the GOP will lose.

You predict the GOP will lose in 2016 no matter what slogan they come up...Your argument in every thread is "wait and see." That aint much of an argument.

Interesting, I wonder what the democrat party thinks about this?

Here are the gallup results...
4kueu0c9xeggazowak9t7g.png

Well, let's see...

Obama, after saying during the campaigning that this election was about his policies, turned around and said that his policies are important. He also said he didn't "sell" them well enough.

The Democratic Party looked at things and decided that they just have a hard time winning non-presidential elections...maybe because their base just doesn't vote then.

And then there are those who want to blame the media.

So...what does the Democratic Party think about this? Denial, as usual.

My take on that matter is that the republicants seem to veer fairly far right to get prrimary votes and then try to hook back to the center in the general election. The demorats don't seem to play that silly game, even during their primary, since they are smart enough (unlike the republicants) to know that the far left will never vote for the republicant in the general election.

Denial and spin. Thats what got them into this mess. And what Americans were sold...stinks but makes good fertilizer.

Why has the popularity of the democrat party plummeted?

I get dibs on the first troll to respond with "Gallup is a right wing" whatever. Ten bucks says this thread doesn't get to two pages before there isn't some form of dismissal based on some kind of slant

I'm not really going to troll the thread but every time I look at that picture I can't help but think he's going in to snag a booger.

has he ever predicted anything else?

I'm wondering now about all those predictions so boldly posted in here that Obama was going to reclaim the House in both 2012 and 2014...

I suspect this bravado bull**** is about as accurate.

Why has the popularity of the democrat party plummeted?

They were simply the last ones caught saying this but doing that. Rest assured that the huge federal nanny state will grow no matter which party is in power. As Shrubnose says - "wait and see". ;)

No I will agree that the Democrats never take an extreme right wing position and then veer to the middle.

But suggesting there is no hiding of the true nature of the communist policies, suggesting they are more honest is an outright ****ing lie?

"If you like your plan, you can keep your plan, and nobody can take that away!' before the election became "I never said that, what I said was you can keep your plan until the insurance companies change it" and even that was an outright ****ing lie.

And then there was voting "present".....

so your claim is about as honest as Obama at his worst, and we can add cowardice to the list of misinformation and bull**** posturing. If you want to quantify it, there are 44 clips of Obama claiming one thing, and then "veering to the center" when caught red handed

Why did the GOP lose the last 2 presidential elections?

Feel free to start your own thread on that, but here the more valid and timely topic is how the Democrats lost this last one in historic terms.

And I thought all this time that Obama was at least being honest about that, he has claimed he won those elections, now it appears you see the Republicans are the natural governing party and need explain their occasional losses.

Easy..Obama lied and cheated.

Now go start that thread.....

We'll be right behind you....soon too!

We'll see how popular the GOP congress is after it fails to deal with America's immigration problems.

We have heard that for years. The dems had 6 years to handle it (including a super majority in congress). This suggests its not as important as the left likes to claim. This spin is amusing, though.

Obama lied, the democrat parties popularity died!

Where is your poll showing that immigration is the issue foremost in the minds of Americans?

Clearly it is not, Obama ran hard on amnesty in this vote and lost in the most crushing and overwhelming defeat in a mid term in American history, I suggest he has set amnesty back at least a decade.

You continue to ignore the fact that you are the last person listening to the White House, people are listening to the Republicans now.

People hate Washington period. Give the Republicans a couple of months of culture war making this Spring and they will be back in the same shape approval wise they were before. Neither party is liked, the Republicans just happen to be a little less disliked right now.

And he lied .... a lot! Ali would be proud of the rope-a-dope he gave the American people. Truly a thing to behold.

Why do you think they need to deal with immigration? Because Obama wants to deal with it? Heck, that's the best reason not to deal with it. Besides, the American People have other things to worry about...like whether they can get a job or not...or whether Obamacare is going to bankrupt them or not.

Immigration is WAAAY down on the list of important stuff.

The people don't want a big, over-bearing government.

The people don't want a big, over-bearing government.

Dunno about that.... the popular vote followed the electoral vote for big government for quite a while now. Until the GOP can proffer a smaller government and actually prove that it's not progressive-lite, the pendulum will continue to swing.

Well, that's the crux of it right there. IF they go for culture wars **** again, you're probably right. But if they don't, if they just send a whole bunch of stalled legislation to the senate and actually get a few things done, the dems are in serious trouble come 2016.

From all indications, that is exactly what the GOP intends to do. I haven't heard much at all about abortion, gays, religion, etc., since the election. I HAVE heard about Keystone, getting the money that's sitting overseas back home and things like that.

Obama, on the other hand, wants to pay attention to the less important social issues and minimize the fiscal issues...kind of like he has been doing for the last 5 or 6 years.

By your thinking, that's why his polling is in the dumpster and makes it likely...if he doesn't get smart...that the Democrats WILL be in trouble in 2016. Unless, of course, you think it's okay for the Democrats to push social issues while it's not okay for the GOP to do so.

I think you are right. I'd like to think the republicans will try to stay out of social issues as much as possible (where they are often ambushed by a media that loves to do so).
