    Easy..Obama lied and cheated.

    Now go start that thread.....

Where is your poll showing that immigration is the issue foremost in the minds of Americans?

Clearly it is not, Obama ran hard on amnesty in this vote and lost in the most crushing and overwhelming defeat in a mid term in American history, I suggest he has set amnesty back at least a decade.

You continue to ignore the fact that you are the last person listening to the White House, people are listening to the Republicans now.

People hate Washington period. Give the Republicans a couple of months of culture war making this Spring and they will be back in the same shape approval wise they were before. Neither party is liked, the Republicans just happen to be a little less disliked right now.

And he lied .... a lot! Ali would be proud of the rope-a-dope he gave the American people. Truly a thing to behold.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. Why do you think they need to deal with immigration? Because Obama wants to deal with it? Heck, that's the best reason not to deal with it. Besides, the American People have other things to worry about...like whether they can get a job or not...or whether Obamacare is going to bankrupt them or not.

Immigration is WAAAY down on the list of important stuff.

Dunno about that.... the popular vote followed the electoral vote for big government for quite a while now. Until the GOP can proffer a smaller government and actually prove that it's not progressive-lite, the pendulum will continue to swing.

Well, that's the crux of it right there. IF they go for culture wars **** again, you're probably right. But if they don't, if they just send a whole bunch of stalled legislation to the senate and actually get a few things done, the dems are in serious trouble come 2016.

From all indications, that is exactly what the GOP intends to do. I haven't heard much at all about abortion, gays, religion, etc., since the election. I HAVE heard about Keystone, getting the money that's sitting overseas back home and things like that.

Obama, on the other hand, wants to pay attention to the less important social issues and minimize the fiscal issues...kind of like he has been doing for the last 5 or 6 years.

By your thinking, that's why his polling is in the dumpster and makes it likely...if he doesn't get smart...that the Democrats WILL be in trouble in 2016. Unless, of course, you think it's okay for the Democrats to push social issues while it's not okay for the GOP to do so.

I think you are right. I'd like to think the republicans will try to stay out of social issues as much as possible (where they are often ambushed by a media that loves to do so).
