New York doctor cleared of Ebola, which means there are no known cases in US [W:115]

Re: New York doctor cleared of Ebola, which means there are no known Ebola cases in t

In the case of deadly communicable disease, an abundance of caution is far better than none. But hey, I know you'd rather just make fun of what you don't understand. Seems to be par for the course with you.

She might have....

You might have Ebola, you need to stop posting here, you might be spreading it via this forum....

And here you show gross ignorance of this instance and disease in general. Jerry Lewis didn't just come back after having daily contact with the infected.

Re: New York doctor cleared of Ebola, which means there are no known Ebola cases in t

OR we could have tried medical contingency plans that aren't thrown out the window because some know it all nurse is convinced she's not going to be the problem. Cause you know **** never happens to her.

We did it right, she never ever had ebola, never ever showed signs, and never ever was a danger to anyone but idiot politicians trying to look tough before an election.

I disagree. What makes sense is to use the available science to make rational public policy decisions. The quarantine decision was not supported by the science. There was no basis for restricting the woman's liberty. She was right to call the governor on it and the judge's decision was spot on.

Yes, it was done right, she was placed under quarantine after having daily direct contact with the infected. She however is a selfish bitch that cares not at all for anyone but herself. Not to mention her chosen profession. There's nothing political about this. Disease doesn't care what your political bent is. She could have been infected. Had that been the case she wouldn't have known if she were contagious until she was obviously symptomatic.

This is all really basic medical procedure when dealing with infectious disease. You seem to want to ignore that because your political side chose to downplay infection control standards.

I agree with the first sentence, and that calls for quarantine of those with direct contact. The rest is just plain wrong, medically and scientifically.

Can you support that claim? As far as I know the CDC disagrees as did the judge who reviewed the evidence both sides put before him.

Call for quarantines all you like, just follow the law when you do. Other than that, you can believe anything "medically and scientifically" you wish.

Who is this "King" you speak of?

In this case?

Chris Cristie and Paul LePage alternately.

How do you know that?

How do I know you weren't hanging around Sierra Leone?

Really? You have to call her a bitch?

Anger issues, deal with them...

Yes, by studying the infectious control protocols developed by the CDC itself. I don't know why the CDC makes such protocols if they're going to abandon them in the face of politics but they have become a political org over the years I've subscribed to JAMA. Don't know why we would trust a trial judge to judge medical necessity in the first place. In this case the state medical board should have made the determination. Which btw they did when they quarantined her.

Such ignorance on full display, medical quarantine trumps.

I never said medical quarantine "did not trump". But you do know there is a federal statute on quarantine and isolation...right? You know that right?

What else do you call someone who has no concern for the health of others as long as they are allowed free rein themselves? The very epitome of NIMBY, the acronym not the poster.

You do know there are also state statutes and in this case more applicable since it was the state medical that ordered the quarantine in face of the federal failure. The state stepped in with actual science when the feds were busy playing PC politics.

You did not answer my question.

She wasn't infected, she knew it. NJ screwed up royally and mistreated her.
That is not being a bitch, that is standing up for her rights against a bunch of moron grandstanding politicians.

No, it this case it's a blatant disregard towards the medical safety of others. She did not "know" she wasn't infected. She wouldn't have known that until the quarantine period was over. That's what quarantine is for.

Yes, I know there are federal statutes. Your point?

Before we go further down this path where you totally ignore all established protocols just because you don't think diseases will ever affect you and yours, a little education may go a long way.

You cry about your rights every bit as her.

Just what where her rights? Her rights dont trump others rights to no be exposed to a killer virus. Even the chance of it.

And the available science says she should have stayed quarantined. Because had she been viral, she would be happily infecting others.
