Engaging the Germans on multiple fronts is what won the war. Had they been engaged on only one front, they wouldn't have been defeated.

No derailment at all. We're talking about Nazi war criminals being allowed into this country after the war with apparently the willing cooperation of the US Government. You do understand that A) the holocaust was a war crime, and B) the Nazis did it, right? Because apparently other people on this forum don't.

We are talking about letting nazis in. Operation paper clip. Not the holocaust. Again. All you seem hell bent on doing is calling people neo Nazis. You haven't even provided a shred of evidence that anyone has been pro nazi. Not a single quote.

People know that bringing nazis back was important to our space program. When you steal information...you use it.

The operation to co-opt German scientists for the US space program (Operation Paperclip) spanned the administrations of Democrats and Republicans alike. It was originally authorized by Pres. Truman, a Democrat. To try to pin that on Republicans is hyper-partisan ignorance and stupidity.

Which President was it who said the US would land a man on the moon? With a rocket that started as an idea in Germany, of course. (The Saturn V, the forerunners of which were originally meant to be intercontinental missiles, but this never got past the dream stage during the war. It was what the 700 or so German rocket scientists had in their heads when they joined the American rocket program.)

Germany had allot to do with their own defeat by the Russians and the US and Britain.

They chose to march East into a horrible Soviet winter.

The Germans couldn't maintain their supply lines and got bogged down in the Russian Snow.

When they got to Stalingrad the whole German 6th army was surrounded and eventually decimated.

Had Hitler not made such a foolish blunder there's no telling what would have happened.

So giving the Russians credit is fine but they just capitalized on a German blunder that may have sealed their fate.

Germans launched their invasion of the USSR on 22 June 1941. They had plenty of opportunity to fight in warm weather. By the time winter came they were not marching into anything. They were attempting to hold their positions against the 100 Siberian divisions Stalin brought west to face them.

Part of the reason Germany marched straight into winter is that they were sidetracked due to Mussolini's incompetence. In the months leading up to the planned Operation Barbarossa, Il Duce decided it would be a good idea to invade Greece for no particularly good reason. The Greeks kicked the Italians' asses bad enough that Hitler had to send reinforcements to bail out Mussolini, delaying Barbarossa by about a month.

Yeah, poor society, how dare we suffer even a minor delay towards reaching the moon - for the most part an international dick measuring contest - when we can protect mass murderers!
