I'm going to guess the leaders in the Democratic Party are going to find a way to stop him from being petty and petulant. He will only damage the party even more than he has, and we all know they are already looking at 2016, as they should be.
 
Hate to break it but immigration reform does not always equal amnesty. I'll wait to hear the reform plan first before jumping to the conclusion it will be amnesty. Obama likes to talk big on immigration then back down, can't wait to see what he proposes and then everyone's head explode. :mrgreen:

Sorry but I disagree. I don't think Obama actually cares about the Dems. And why should he? They no longer have the power to back him on much of anything. These are Obama's last two years in office no matter what. He doesn't have to run for re-election. He doesn't have to turn for a senate/house position. He'll be making millions off of book deals, interviews etc etc and be getting a life time check every year for what is it...250k? The man is set and doesn't HAVE to worry about the future. He can just try and push things through all he wants regardless of any damage that it may cause. The only thing he has to worry about at this point is getting impeached. And I honestly don't see that happening.

He should because the only "accomplishment" he could conceivably claim from his Presidency is that he was the President who gave the nation nationalized health care. If he grants some form of amnesty by executive order the Democrats will pay for it in 2016. He would risk handing the GOP the Presidency on a silver platter and giving them an unobstructed path to repealing the one and only thing he can hang his hat on.

Hell... I guess I hope he does it.:lol:

I think he may flail about with impotent rage, but the Constitution still limits his powers and abilities. Relax a little bit. Or stock up on water and ammo.

I agree and think it (the lack of care between Obama and the democrats) is mutual. I think Barack and Michelle both carry a bit of a chip on their shoulder and it is coming out now that a lot of dems are pissed at him as well. Its going to be an interesting two years.

Republicans will fall all over themselves to vote for any black conservative.......its like watching a suburban White bumping into a black mother and her two year old child.......the over/under on the word 'cute' is about 50. Here's a stat you might be interested in: 58 percent of married folks with children voted Republican. The Dem vote breaks down to minorities and starry-eyed liberals who live in states where they have little contact with minorities.......see New Hampshire, Vermont, etc.

1. Actually, no. Presidents are not allowed to unilaterally rewrite legislation.
2. It's called "prosecutorial discretion".

Hers the thing. I think he knew...maybe even planned on democrats getting shellacked this year. Perfect for him. Now, he can blame every obstacle, block, and failing, on the GOP in the house and senate. Even the promised amnesty will be blamed on the GOP, both when he attempts it and when it is deemed unconstitutional. The president cannot grant citizenship.

The same legal basis that he granted amnesty to the 'Dream Act' kids through executive order........now he will just do it for the parents and others who criminally entered the country without documentation........the RINOs won't lift a hand in fear of losing that all important illegal Hispanic vote........screw the White voters who have been paying into the system and building up this country for generations.........just let Juan and Maria walk across the border and start sucking the system dry without putting a penny in.......LOL at you suckas from South of the Border. Sure. And just because we say "entitlement reform" doesn't mean that because we are having the CATO institute do it that it's going to necessarily involve privatization......

And now he's insisting that it happens in 6 weeks, or he's just going to change the laws unilaterally. Because he's not willing to work with the congress that got elected. Since when does the Executive get to tell the Legislative how long they have to pass legislation?

Thats why God made the Supreme Court...

He can write whatever EOs he wants. Doesnt mean they are enforceable. I think he is counting on chaos.
