Dang.....

This will..... be bad, methinks.

ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jon Karl reported that according to WH officials “the president will move forward with an executive order on immigration reform “no matter how big a shellacking Democrats get tonight” during ABC’s Election coverage on Tuesday.

Karl said “White House officials are saying that you can expect the president to set an aggressive, and defiant tone tomorrow. You're not going to see any mea culpas, no big firings, no change in direction.”...

So much for hope of a repeat of the later 1990s where Clinton and Republicans worked together.

It is never going to happen. The next few years will be as bad, if not worse, than the previous 6.

Clinton didn't have a chip on his shoulder.

On what legal basis will Obama grant amnesty?

I'm with you CP. Should the President follow through with his pandering agenda, the fallout could be really bad. Hard to estimate how other groups the left panders to will react when economic opportunity for them is further destroyed in favor of a new group to exploit.

The Dems saw the wrath of the White vote last night.........if Obummer signs an executive amnesty they can kiss the White House goodbye in two years.........

I fully expect Obama will try to poison the well. The problem for the left will be that they drink the same water as the rest of us.

The Repubs haven't worked with the Dems for the last 6 years and why would you expect a change now?

Indeed, many are pessimistic that Obama will make the change. His decision to go it alone on immigration isn't very heartening.

I don't think Obama will grant Amnesty.... Congress can overturn, and not fund. and they have the manpower to do that.

Mitch McConnell just taught the Democrats not only how not to cooperate without repercussions but also how to win at the ballot box by making it look like your opponent is the one not cooperating. This has probably ensured not only the next 2 years but the whole next generation will be beyond bipartisan compromise.

Obama granted deferred status to the 'Dream Act' kids by executive order........without a peep out of the Repubs. He can do it again quite easily.

True, but times have changed, and with such a sweeping victory look for the republicans to be much more aggressive. dream act was a landmine, kids, etc.... blanket amnesty, is a pretty safe bet to come out against.

Nor have the dems, who were in the power position, worked with repubs.

I don't think he'll go that far. He has to know at this point the electorate is not with him anymore and any attempts to drag the country further to the left will undermine Democrats 2016. I'm guessing the next 2 years will be "cool" but not "cold" with a few token gestures of bipartisanship and not too many waves as the Democrats regroup for the next election.

I just hope the GOP doesn't go off the deep end in pursuit of some perceived but non-existent mandate. Right now they're back in control of the Senate because people are unhappy with the Democrats and that is the ONLY reason.

SCOTUS needs to tell BO "no".
congress can then deal with it further legislatively in the new year.

They have the mandate they need now, just need to act.

The same one he used to unilaterally amend Obamacare?
How did he amend Obamacare? Not implementing parts of the law is allowed by EO. Granting amnesty is not. I think its the only reason he hasnt already.

Hers the thing. I think he knew...maybe even planned on democrats getting shellacked this year. Perfect for him. Now, he can blame every obstacle, block, and failing, on the GOP in the house and senate. Even the promised amnesty will be blamed on the GOP, both when he attempts it and when it is deemed unconstitutional. The president cannot grant citizenship.

Dont know if he will try, but he 'cant' legally. There is established immigration law. The president deosnt have the powe rto usurp law, merely to not enforce law. He can direct no immigration action for the next two years by EO, but he cant order an alteration in the law.

Welcome back.

Thanks.

I agree, however what we've seen in this ruling elite consolidation of power, is that sometimes, they do what they aren't allowed. unchecked. random changes to obamacare comes to mind

Perhaps that's the play? Incite an act that is not legally his to make and dare the Republicans to do something about it.... desperate yes but nothing would surprise me. Welcome back Rev!

He's already acted illegally and nothing was done, maybe this time, they will have the balls to stop him from these unilateral acts.

If he does, it will all but spell the end to Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend's wife's campaign chances.

The great majority of Americans are opposed to amnesty, legalization, and citizenship, as they know it's not only unjust to the millions of Americans harmed by illegal aliens, it will send wage-scales plummeting, while making it nearly impossible to address major-city over-crowding miseries.

The Republicans will play that up .. and then it will be the Democrats who will be all but "dead".

If this election showed anything, it's that a great many Americans simply are not married to "their" political party, and if things get bad enough, they'll vote out even people they may have previously voted for.

Think twice, Mr. President .. or you may be the last Presidential novelty candidate your party will ever successfully field.
