1) He's the first black senator from the South, since Reconstruction. Get your facts straight.

2) Obama is the first bi-racial president.

I remember the Libbos screaming, "racism", everytime someone dared criticize Obama. Hell, y'all still do it. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, you people suddenly want to take race out of the equation.

Nope. It just speaks to the fact that the GOP mostly judges people by who and what they are as people and not by the color of their skin. If Scott had depended on Obama to open any doors for him, he wouldn't have been considered for dog catcher.

The OP did refer to race so of course race will be discussed in this thread. But being fixated on race? Very few conservatives are guilty of that.

Yep. The democrats have been using the race baiting tactic so long, they have worn it out and it's no longer that effective. Hopefully they finally learned that Tuesday night.

I remember the press conference when Mondale introduced Geraldine Ferraro. You could tell by the tone of his voice, he was certain that he had just won the election based on the novelty of picking the first female VP candidate.

I find it hilarious that after all of the race baiting so many liberals did in this forum leading up to the election, now they do not seem to want to talk about race.
