If this can happen in Texas....

A deranged and apparently intoxicated passenger at a crowded Dallas airport decided to attack another passenger because he claims the man is a ‘faggot.’
In a video of the incident uploaded to Youtube on Thursday, October 23, the upset passenger can be seen threatening and attempting to grab a phone from another passenger wearing a jacket and pink shirt.
A man in a black cowboy hat approaches the angry man and asks what he’s upset about.
“Queers!” the man shouts. “That’s what I’m upset about. This faggot right here.”
The man then kicks the passenger in the pink shirt, slaps him and grabs his hair.

Yep, seen a few drunken rednecks at DFW. I was at a convention in Dallas with some pilots, there was a drunken redneck without a shirt waiting to board our flight. We gave him a tee shirt we had from the convention. He took it..and didn't wear it. He got on the plane with his daughter (dirty as hell, no shoes), and they called his name to the jetway to discuss a "ticket problem" then closed the plane and we left.

In this case, it is gratifying that he got pounced on...he is lucky he wasn't beaten to a pulp. This is what happens when you take hillbilly trash and put them where normal people are.

Good reaction by the bystanders.

Must have had to many beers on his connecting flight. Either way, he deserves a timeout for a little while after that. I suspect he is no stranger to the law. It seems he was quite use to being in cuffs.

It is not. It is a dumb ass in an airport. He could be from anywhere. I don't know if you people know this, but airports are where people go to travel.

I'm from Texas and it's a LOT more COMMON in Texas than in many states, most even if you only count the one's north of the Mason/Dixon line.

You should be prosecuted for committing a hate crime to some degree but you should at least be banned from flying for the next 5 years or so. What an idiot.

It was left open to interpretation whether assault against a known 'sodomite' is wrong.

Sodomite covers such a wide range of practitioners of sexual activities performed by and on either sex and sometime animals that it is a good thing you do not condone violence against 'sodomites'. I believe that a very, very small portion of western civilization does not practice one form of sodomy or another.

Although I believe you are preoccupied with only some variations of sodomy, right?

Granted the assumption was that the people involved were Texans.
I couldn't care less about the origins of the homophobic PoS. I was more hopeful about the crowd who intervened, especially the guy yelling: " No way you ain't doin' that ****in' **** you mother ****er" (if i got that right).

If you desire to interpret my post wrongly, you could also say that I left open whether robbery is wrong, since I didn't explicitly condemn it.

I didn't address assault on a known sodomite because that's not germane to this story.

So a post was posted two days before mine. So sorry to have offended you. But the story just made national news yesterday, and was just today reported on Bing.

I hear ya. But in defense of rednecks, the lead guy who pounced on the attacker was a cowboy hat wearin' redneck who I assure you is far right politically. Sometimes people surprise us.
