Transgender federal employee wins historic discrimination case

Look, I can resolve this. How about we create a separate bathroom for the mentally confused so anyone not sure what there gender is can go in there and the rest of the mentally stable population doesn't have to be inconvenienced by such nonsense.

There. Problem solved.

Nope. There's already a restroom available for those who have an issue with it, since it's their issue. The one at their home. Or they can get over it. Maybe a psychiatrist could help them with their fear of that what that person in the stall next to them might or might not have between their legs or what chromosomes they have.

So, your position is the owner of the bathroom decides. That works for private homes, now what about public? Well the public has decided. The decision is this: if you have a penis you use one bathroom, if you have a vagina you use another. You can play pretend all you want, but your physiology in that one aspect is the sole determiner.

Except the owner of a publicly operated business has no right to ask what sex a person is when it comes to using the restrooms. Privacy laws say that's none of the business owners business and sex discrimination to do it.

Plus this was a federal employee/job. They had absolutely no right to decide what makes a woman a "woman" when the law already said she was a woman.

Not that many would notice, plus since we have stalls, it shouldn't be that big a deal either. That is like caring about there being stalls rather than a single restroom so you don't have anyone who might look or bother you.

I say to those women "too bad". Wait til you get home or suck it up just as those with any fears of public restrooms do.

Businesses over a certain size are required by law to have separate male and female bathrooms. The wait til you get home doesn't work for employees. For the extremely small distribution of folks confused about their gender, they can do the waiting or use their sex's bathroom.

I say to those NOT women, too bad. Wait til you get home or drive a minivan with a portapotty in the rear.

Sigh..

The individual is still a man and has no business in the female bathroom. I don't care if it hurts his feelings either.

I'm thinking that "this man" wouldn't be as excited to be in the women's restroom as you would be. OK?

They don't need to ask, this has always been on the honor system. But honor is obviously sadly lacking in the confused.

As for the definition of woman, bathrooms are a thing of physiology, not your hopes and dreams and ponies. That federal job must still follow the law which requires separate sex bathrooms.

Typical selfish, inconsiderate leftist garbage. 99.9% of the public has to change their behavior to accommodate the .1% that falls into the politically correct victim class.

And many places, including where I live, say a business owner cannot verify a persons gender. I've had men in the women's changing room and restrooms where I work, and women in the men's. I've used the men's room by accident before. No real problem.

Those laws are due to all the prudes in the US. Luckily something that is changing.

I feel that people should get over something that really does them no harm and is their problem.

You have no right to know what someone's physiology is like under their clothing.

Fine, let the gender confused get over their gender confusion. It does them no harm to enter the restroom that is designed for their genitals. The idea that everyone else on the planet has to adjust to them is incredibly selfish and unbelievably inconsiderate. But that is liberals for you.

You live in fantasy land? Because for those of us who live in the United States, OSHA requires separate sex bathrooms.

Except as otherwise indicated in this paragraph (c)(l)(i), toliet facilities, in toilet rooms separate for each sex shall be provided in all places of employment in accordance with Table J-1 of this section .... [emphasis added]

No, I won't deal with it, and I don't have to. Deal with that.

Are you engaged in a petulant frenzy?

Stay out of the men's room until you calm down.

Lovely feeling and I'm sure beauty contest contestants all feel we should have world peace as well.

You have no right to know what someone's physiology is like under their clothing.

And you have no right to be using the other sex's bathroom. You so obviously have forgotten that men's bathrooms have urinals.

Would you be happier seeing a woman go into the women's restroom, or having a woman lift her skirt and pee next to you at the trough urinal?

Don't really care either way. That said, I'd rather not with the later case, I've seen women attempt to pee standing up, very much lacking in control. Reminds me of the sign in basic, "young bucks with short horns - stand closer".

So? If a transgendered man comes in to use the men's room he will either have a penis and be able to use the urinal or won't and will use the stall. This isn't rocket science.

This isn't nearly as hard to achieve as world peace. But it would be a step in that direction.

It does them more harm potentially to use a bathroom designated for the opposite gender as the one they identify with than it does for someone like you to have them using the restroom of the gender they present as since 99% of the people won't notice they aren't physically that gender, particularly if they are dressed as their claimed gender. People mostly see what they want to see.

Only says they have to be provided, not that they must only be used by a certain sex, especially in states like NC with a law that says you cannot question a persons sex/gender when they enter the restroom or changing room.

You really are a problem, you know that? You think I want you and my daughter in the same restroom? Dude, I'm done with you, you're trolling this thread.

You do realize that a lesbian can go in and ogle your daughter now, right?

Someone who WANTS to see her naked, as opposed to someone who has no interest?

:applaud:applaudGood for her! I believe the OSC ruled in the right direction on this one. Another step in the right direction, and definitely a win for equality.

yep good for her!
the bathroom thing is a grey area but what people have to realize, this doesnt magically happen over night lol
I cant come into work tomorrow with a wig and dress on and simply demand to use the womans restroom and be called kathy.
There are legal and medical (mental and physical) process that go on. People are so dramatic and dishonest its hilarious watching them panic,. lie and sell fear tactics.

You know there's a lack of interest?
