Canada Just Showed the U.S. The Exact Right Way to Cover a Shooting

My first instinct is to laugh at your bash America at every opportunity attitude but since you are bashing our liberal media that loves to bash America too I will laugh at that instead.

You are still a newbie here to jump to that conclusion. Checkout my post areas!

The rats in American media exploit stories like this to push for anti-2nd amendment laws. If you used a gun to save a bunch of people you would be lucky if the American media did a story on you. If they did give you a token mention you would be lucky if they aired your name, photo, did a little biography on you, told us what kind of guns you used, where you got your guns, how much ammo you got, interview the people you save and give a soap box to 2nd amendment advocates. But if you used a gun to murder a bunch of innocent people the media would be on you like a fat man at his favorite all you can eat buffet. The media would show your photo, name, bio, the gist of what your suicide note said, tell us your hobbies, what kind of guns you got, where you got your guns, how many bullets you got, ask your victims stupid questions(like how do you feel, are you mad at the guy who did this and so on)and give a soap box to anti-2nd amendment trash. And the media will do this for weeks or even months.

The Ebola media hype has been going on for one month.

Well, it's true. Canada's news networks are not unbiased but at least they are less sensational. They tried to introduce Fox News North and barely anyone up here watches it. This country just doesn't have the culture that appreciates salacious news reporting. It's viewed as unpalatable in most cases. People want to hear the facts, not a diatribe.

The way the American media reports on these kinds of crises is why they continue to happen. Killers get all the spotlight, with detailed background stories and psychological profiling, and the victims are made out to be second rate. With that kind of shot at 15 seconds of fame, what psycho wouldn't go for it?

It's not America bashing, it's the truth. Corporately owned media is a major problem in the United States and it has led to a dumbing down of public awareness. In the 80's the news reporting was way better. Now most news hours consist of two falsely positioned opponents screaming at each other, or at the very least poorly worded reports like the one in the OP demonstrates.
