What about people in general, dont they laugh when funny things happen?
You dont think a politician trying to dance around the truth is funny?
Or is it because she's a democrat that this MUST be a conspiracy against her?
The answer was reasonable. Laughing at it was inappropriate so something else must have been at work. In my opinion that was partisan zealotry.

I dont think its reasonable to reflexively (instantly, without evidence) simply dismiss the crowd as "republicans". You admit you dont know that, but you still choose that for a reason.

How do you know it was inappropriate? Did you watch the debate? Are you intimately familiar with the NH campaign?

And finally-to be clear you know that the people laughing were "partisan zealots"...but is there any partisan zealotry in your response?

When asked to give a simple, yes or no response to a hypothetical pollster asking, “do you approve of the job President Obama is doing?” Shaheen responded, “in some ways I approve, and some things I don't approve,” a line that caused the audience to start laughing. She continued “like most questions that we deal with as policymakers there aren’t simple answers, yes or no.”

cont... Audience Laughs at Shaheen for Ducking Question on Obama

So she votes with Obama 99% of the time and somehow can't answer the question?

Watching dems jump ship is well, entertaining. Anybody else want some popcorn?
She is in surprisingly big trouble here in NH. She was a popular governor, then went on to beat John Sununu (the younger) who was our incumbent senator in 2008. She rode the 2008 Obama wave. I had a bumper sticker on my last car that said "Don't blame me....I voted for Sununu" (they were very popular up here).

She is widely being panned for the debate performance up here, and in NH, we take our debates very seriously. She was called stiff, awkward, hostile, dishonest and other not so nice terms by our local media.

Brown has run a stellar campaign. And his ads are brilliant - hers not so much.

She should have ridden to an easy victory, and she's in the fight for her life against Brown. New poll out today shows Brown ahead by 1 point.

I detest Shaheen. I always did. She has no integrity, she's a follower, she's inarticulate, and she whines. Will she lose? Who knows.....12 days is an eternity in a politically-charged state like NH. She & Brown have another debate next week. I suspect she'll be better prepared and her staffers have read and listened to all the criticism of this performance, and she - like Obama did after the disastrous debate with Romney - will change up.

    Why do you say that?

Democrats always have to deal with lack of interests in the midterms. That's a large part of the problem the Democrats are facing now. Assuming the audience at a midterm debate mostly is Republican seems reasonable.

Because I live in NH. There is no lack of interest in the midterms here. There was an equal amount of representation there.

    What's that sound?
Oh yeah....it's the sound of a trainwreck.

I was researching that race yesterday, I think 3 of 6 polls showed brown up by 1 or 2. Considering where she was thats interesting. Brown appears to be running a good race, apparently like in MA.

Dems have to deal with the handout crowd staying home in the midterms.

He is. I didn't vote for him in the primary (I voted for Jim Rubens) but I do support Brown with enthusiasm. I've met him twice since he won the nomination and am really impressed with what a great man he is.

She is on the defensive in a very big way. She's relying on 2 things in her incessant attack ads: the old standby "war on women" crap, and his "big oil" connection. Lame at best. She's getting panned all over the state for her awful and baseless attacks - and she's looking like a whiny bitch at the same time.
