Liberal Gun Control Activist Caught Packing Gun[W:188]

Missouri state Senator Jamilah Nasheed, a Democrat who has sponsored several “anti-gun” bills in her state, was arrested Monday night during a protest outside of the Ferguson Police Department. However, it’s what police officers found on her that is raising eyebrows.

Nasheed was carrying a loaded 9mm handgun and extra rounds of ammunition, according to Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson. She also refused to take a breathalyzer test after officers determined she “smelled strongly of intoxicants,” sources told KMOV-TV.

The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action has dubbed several pieces of legislation sponsored by Nasheed “anti-gun,” including an amendment that would require gun owners to report a firearm stolen within 72 hours.

Nasheed also reportedly pushed for a bill that would have required any “parent or guardian of a child who attends a public, private, or charter school shall notify, in writing, the superintendent of the school district, or the governing body of a private school or charter school, that such parent or guardian owns a firearm within thirty calendar days” of enrollment.

Please know the real position of gun control activists like Obama and Nasheed: "Guns are for me, not for thee."

Did she seriously write that to the St. Louis prosecutor? Sounds like a threat to me. "Indict Wilson or we will riot". And she did this 6 days after the incident and without any kind of details on the case? WTF kind of irresponsible and dangerous politician is this broad?

Interesting. Can you show us what restrictive legislation she voted on? This is all that the NRA shows on its site:

NRA-ILA | Missouri De-facto Gun Owner Registry Legislation Moving In Missouri Senate Call Your Senators NOW

Hm, can you tell us how this law restricts the gun owning abilities of the average citizen? What specific part of your right to bear arms is restricted by having to report that weapons registered to you are missing? For example, if you were to lose or have your car stolen, would you not have to report it? What about... a chainsaw? You have every right to own one. However, if it was stolen, would you not have to report it? Again, I'm having trouble seeing how a law which completely releases a person from liability in the case that the gun was stolen, is a restriction on your right to bear arms.

is there gun registration in that state?

and her demand that parents notify schools that they own guns is designed for what? to harass the parents? subject their children to harassment or harassing scrutiny?

sounds bogus to me

Anyone who says "maybe we shouldn't allow people to own grenade launchers" is an "anti-gun zealot" to you.

(this is a fun game)

Okay, maybe I was a bit strong. Nevertheless, she was carrying at the protest and possibly had been drinking. I'd say there was at least some poor judgment there. I don't think she got arrested for just protesting.

BWAHAHAHQAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........

Figures. "Do as I say, not as I do..."

is there gun registration in that state?

As far as I know, no. What does that change though? There are multiple ways to trace gun ownership. Fingerprints lead to bank statements, bank statements lead to purchases, purchases lead to gun stores, gun stores lead to faces being recognized.

Registration of a gun is no more harassment than registration of any other object. - We register cars, farming equipment, voters, etc.

Yeah, what a bitch. Trying to require people to notify a school if the child owns a gun. Trying to require people to report a stolen gun within 72 hours, which is apparently "de-facto gun registration" (wait, what?). Bitch.

She clearly wants to come into your home and take your guns.

Are children allowed to own guns in that State?

Ohhh...I understand...you misspoke. Okay, no problem. Happens to all of us, eh?

Anyway, why would anyone think it's a school's business to know if there might be guns in a student's house?

Our story's heroine, Ms Nasheed, claimed she had a concealed carry permit, that she showed the officers during her drunken arrest.

But, I doubt it.

To her undying credit, she only had 8 rounds in the gun, and not over 10.

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) Missouri state senator Jamilah Nasheed is out of jail after being arrested during protests in Ferguson Monday night. Senator Nasheed says she wanted to get arrested to send a strong message to protesters.

When she was taken into custody, police say they smelled alcohol on her breath and found a loaded gun in her possession.

Nasheed, and 22-year old Jelfonte Nelson were protesting in the middle of the street Monday night across from the Ferguson police department. When they refused repeated orders from law enforcement officers to get on the sidewalk, they were arrested.

“I went to jail with the hope of wanting those protesters to see peaceful protest and civil disobedience without being violent,” Nasheed told FOX 2’s Shirley Washington. “We’re out here fighting for justice for Michael Brown. We don’t need individuals protesting in a negative manner.”

The pair was taken to the St. Ann police department where they were searched before being placed in a jail cell.

During a search incidental to the arrest, the senator had in her possession one fully loaded nine millimeter semi automatic pistol and eight rounds of 9mm ammunition,” said Ferguson Police Department Officer Tim Zoll.

Nasheed explained, “People every single day threaten me about this Michael Brown killing and so it’s not unusual for me to have my gun on me. I have it with me every single day. It’s like putting on my shoes.”

Police say Nasheed did not have a conceal carry permit for the weapon when she was taken into custody. However, she told FOX 2 that she had one with her and then produces it.

“If she had a conceal and carry permit, I’m sure she would have shown it to the officer,” said Officer Zoll.

“They didn’t ask to see it,” countered Nasheed. “And then they came up with these lies saying I was intoxicated.”

Officer Zoll explaiened, “According to the officers on the scene the senator had a very strong smell of an intoxicant at the time of her arrest.”

When police asked Nasheed to take a breathalyzer test, she refused.

“I said no. Why should I? I’m not intoxicated. I don’t need to have a breathalyzer.”

After posting $600 bond, Nasheed was released from jail.

Nasheed and Nelson are charged with misdemeanors of Failure to Comply and Manner of Walking in the Roadway. Police say Nasheed’s gun was seized for safe keeping and will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Police firearms section for test firing, which is routine protocol.

I say, the ***** is lying and has no carry permit.

Don't you think liberal bigots like Sen Nasheed should obey their own sacred gun control laws?

anyone who is honest about the gun control scourge in this country understands that politicians are not willing (for the most part) to come out and admit they are gun banners YET. That would cause all but those in the most brain dead districts to lose. So they incrementally seek to ban our guns by slowly advancing more and more restrictions

its the language they use. For example-if someone says WE CAN SAVE LIVES WITH A 10 round magazine limit-they are really saying a 2 round then one round limit will save more lives.

if they say we can save lives with an "assault weapon ban" (which are used in less than 2% of all gun crimes) why wouldn't they want to ban handguns which are used in the vast majority of firearm murders.

Oh ok, so the perception is not based on any action she's taken, but rather an assumption of secret motivations she has never spoken of.

This story will be buried by your Lib-Com allies at CNN, MSNBC and most of the major media.

It is highly unlikely that Ms. Nasheed would have gotton a concealed carry permit---being a gun-grabbing, baby-killing-anti-White democrat. But having a concealed carry permit is the law in Missouri:

Missouri

Updated as of Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

STATE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION

“That the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power, shall not be questioned; but this shall not justify the wearing of concealed weapons."

Article 1, Section 23.

NRA-ILA | Missouri

I would assume her 9mm handgun was given to her by a boyfriend or relative. What they call a "straw purchase." I wouldn't be suprised if the gun was stolen.

Senator Nasheed reminds me of the pigs in "Animal Farm" that slowly painted-over all the great laws of equality for the animals.

You see, some animals are more equal than others.

And you make all of these assumptions based on the fact that she once proposed that people should have to report when their guns are stolen within 72 hours.

Given by a boyfriend? Why, women don't buy guns?
Stolen? Why? Because she's black?

Okay, maybe I was a bit strong. Nevertheless, she was carrying at the protest and possibly had been drinking. I'd say there was at least some poor judgment there. I don't think she got arrested for just protesting.

She was not charged with anything related to alcohol. Sounds to me more like the "I smelled weed" magic wand of probable cause invention.

So, in an area that has seen a lot of protests and violence lately, her lawful concealed weapon was "irresponsible."

You know why you think that? Because she's a Democrat. That's it. If a Republican carried a concealed weapon in a potentially dangerous area, you want to tell me you'd call them irresponsible?

Spare me, tell me how having to declare a gun you owned went missing/was stolen is restricting your right to own guns. Does having to report your car stolen restrict you from owning cars?

Oh ok, so the perception is not based on any action she's taken, but rather an assumption of secret motivations she has never spoken of.

no you are wrong. I have dealt with anti gun politicians going on four decades. There are certain actions and attitudes that gun banners have. Telling parents that they have to notify schools that they own guns is the mindset of a gun banner

you really don't know much about this do you

registration is the wet dream of every gun banning group in the USA. no one is seeking to ban cars

Well I did the the thread #1 because she's an ***hole.

But she is more interesting because she is Black Supremacist fanning the fires of racism over the shooting of a violent thug (who lasted reports say, more than deserved it).

There is every possiblility the gun is stolen, because that's what the stats say thugs and their groupies use in the hood she represents.

We may know soon enough if her 9-Mil was procured under legal avenues----but if you think this story will make it to CNN or USA Today---

:lamo

Spare me, please spare me from laughing.

She wanted all school children's parents and caretakers to fill out a report to the Obama-loving local school board if there was a gun around the home.

And then Ms Nasheed goes around carrying a loaded gun with no permit!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

So what we have learned in this thread is that if some one does something they have never argued against, legislated against, or shown to be against, that makes them a hypocrite to some. Also, we learned that some people have this amazing ESP ability to read minds and know what people they have never met really want to do. That is amazing stuff.

Spare me, please spare me from laughing.

2 posts and you still can't tell us how reporting a weapon you own was stolen restricts you from actual ownership. I'm waiting.

Yep. As I suspected. Because she's black.

can you find Black democrat women who are say NRA A rated? I bet its going to be tough

She was involoved with more anti-gun laws than that.

The law requiring reporting a stolen gun is not as invasive---but still another Big-Brother type law.

Certainly, Nasheed's law demanding children's caregivers and parents to register their guns with Leftist school board is. Just another form of registration and restrictions on gun ownership.
