The report goes on to note that any action which can be taken to “reduce risk” of Ebola exposure should not wait until a “scientific certainty” develops. “The minimum level of protection in high-risk settings should be a respirator with an assigned protection factor greater than 10. A powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) with a hood or helmet offers many advantages over an N95 filtering facepiece or similar respirator, being more protective, comfortable, and cost-effective in the long run,” the report also adds.

The working theory about Ebola transmission from the CDC and the agency’s director Thomas Frieden, is incorrect and “outmoded” according to the report.“Virus-laden bodily fluids may be aerosolized and inhaled while a person is in proximity to an infectious person and that a wide range of particle sizes can be inhaled and deposited throughout the respiratory tract,” University researchers concluded.

Airborne vs. Droplet Precautions - pg.2 | allnurses

Droplet --- requires close contact (typically within 3 feet or less) between the source client and a susceptible person.
Use of a standard surgical mask within 3 feet of the client is required.

Respiratory droplets are generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, or during procedures such as suctioning, endotracheal intubation, cough induction by chest physiotherapy and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Airborne --- microorganisms dispersed over long distances that remain infective over time and distance.
Infectious agents remain active in the air over a long period of time and are dispersed over long distances by air currents, which are inhaled by susceptible individuals.

Preventing the spread of airborne pathogens requires the use of special air handling and ventilation systems wearing respiratory protection with NIOSH-certified N95 or higher level respirator for all health care workers.

Background information detailing why these experts believes the CDC and WHO are functioning under an outdated mode of thought when it comes to how infectious diseases are transmitted via aerosols is also included in the new report. Medical and infection control professionals have relied for years on a paradigm for aerosol transmission of infectious diseases based on very outmoded research and an overly simplistic interpretation of the data. In the 1940s and 50s, William F. Wells and other ‘aerobiologists’ employed now significantly out-of-date sampling methods (eg, settling plates) and very blunt analytic approaches (eg, cell culturing) to understand the movement of bacterial aerosols in healthcare and other settings. Their work, though groundbreaking at the time, provides a very incomplete picture,” the report said.

According to researchers, early aerobiologists were unable to measure small particles near an infected person and therefore made an assumption that such particles existed on far from the source and airborne transmission could have happened around 3-feet or so from the source.....snip~

There is an amazing amount of research in Infection Control. Article intended to be scary.

Doctor: 'Reliable Evidence' Ebola Can Go Airborne.....

Despite the government’s denials, there is reliable evidence that the Ebola virus may be airborne, retired neurosurgeon and author Dr. Russell Blaylock said Tuesday on Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.” “It's a viral organism and at first it was only spread by fluid, body fluids,” he said. “So you had to come in contact with the body or get some of the fluids, serum or blood, in order to contract it. It was not airborne. "There's evidence now from a Canadian study that in fact it may be airborne and what they do is they separate animals and they infect one group of animals and see if it will spread to the isolated other ones that are exposed to the air, and it did spread," Blaylock said. "Now the U.S. doctors are saying that they don't believe that, but the Canadian study was very well done and it's sort of irrefutable evidence.”

“When we first had Ebola appear in Africa, they did a pretty good job of quarantining and it didn't really spread,” he said. “But this time, unfortunately, they let it get out. Families were invading areas that they were told not to go into because they wanted to see their loved ones the last time, and they underestimated the virus itself because they were wearing these HazMat suits and protective gear, but the virus still spread to them.”.....snip~

    That's nice.

Newsmax is to legitimate information as Twinkies are to nutrition. It's a right-wing slander box.

According to Google, Dr. Russell Blaylock also believes in chemtrails. He's a frequent Alex Jones guest. He's a crackpot.

It is not "like" they are. They definately are. I listened to Rush while mowing my lawn last week. He does everything but say it is airborne, then he does that stupid "hummmmm" so he can say he isnt really saying it, but the dittoheads know. Very very irresponsible use of the airwaves. I live in a very conservobot area, fox is on in most bars along with ESPN, and anytime I hear Rush talk about something it is going arond that night. I spend a little time at the local legion too and I bet I have had a dozen people ask me what they can do about ebola. I tell them to get their flu shots, cause that is a thousand times (at least) more likely to kill them than ebola. More than one have actually gotten mad at me, telling me how I dont know what I am talking about.

Lol I know man. It's fully intentional.

No right-winger here will ever admit they listen to Rush.
