Americans want flight restrictions from Ebola countries. And it’s not close.

That decision would have to be made by the health officials of the country that allowed him to board the plane.

No it didn't, it could have been in place by the US who allowed his passport to board that plane.

Sure thing.

Maps Ebola across africa 2014 - Bing Images

But do note the source upon the map as well and when it was updated. Thanks!
Thanks very much again. Bing seems to have better accessibility for this graphic than Google. Be nice if we could get an update from 4/14, though. What do you mean about the source(s) for the map?

Are u.s officials in charge of all flight operations over there?

They are in charge of foreign passports that enter this country. They block entrances to our country everyday via the passport.

If we had the actual safeguards in place prior to the liar who came over here, we wouldn't have to be having this conversation.

We are already screwed. Especially if we keep getting cases of it. This thing is more contagious than being let on. If they cant stop this soon this will get out of control. This one and two at time if these CDC guys keep ****ing up will break loose then we will be screwed.

Does the modern health care system of this country not count as a safe gaurd?

No.....the former head of CDC stated only Big Hospitals affiliated with a University are able to handle such a situation.

Besides there only 4 hospitals that are really prepared to handle this type of situation. Which Friedman the head of CDC is thinking of sending any others to one of those four.

And acting on panic and fears only will make things worse.

Was there one at the airport where Duncan boarded his plane?

I know what your doing here and it's not going to work. When Duncan bought his ticket to the US the red flags could have been raised. Yes, traveling to a foreign country one must present a passport that is checked.

Well the Bing page has more current updated Maps.....past April. Click on the images and take your pick.

Down in the Right hand corner, the source for that Map to the Bing page was the CDC and all who it says. Which includes the WHO and UNICEF.

So ban any plane or flight from countries suffering from ebola, and any flight carrying people from said countries?

Look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go back and look at my post with my solution and quit acting like a child. I stated clearly that if a person who wants to come to this country that is from a country that has an outbreak, he must serve a 21 day quarantine before he boards the plane.

You keep rehashing the same debunked talking points.

Its called logic. Keeping flights coming from the exposed countries is stupidly foolish as already demonstrated. This Ebola virus seems to be more virulent than previously said. That means measures must be taken to contain it early or it WILL get out of hand. The CDC has only FOUR full isolation hospitals each with approximately 11beds. that's 44 beds in the entire country. How many do we have exposed with symptoms? Here's another they don't tell you. It takes 21 days for the vial load on your system to become apparent and you to be contagious. What they don't tell you is you are contagious before the symptoms appear. If you have the virus and its replicating, you are contagious. Cutting flights is not panic its prudent. It doesn't eliminate risk it slows the spread down so it can be dealt with easier.

So ban any plane or flight from countries suffering from ebola, and any flight carrying people from said countries?

Again, no. Ban any passenger from the hot spot countries from traveling to the US, regardless of the country the flight originated. In Duncan's case, he flew to Brussels first, then to Dallas TX. In Brussels, were the ban in place, Duncan would not have been permitted to board the flight to the U.S.

It's really not that difficult at a concept level so I'm not sure why you're having trouble with this.

And that is impractical to enforce.

Besides what if the person contracts ebola during the 21 day quarantine?

My question to the twit is why didn't that happen with the current and previous patients. They all should have been sent to an isolation ward.

Then he wasn't in quarantine to begin with.

I don't think we have much power to compel Belgium to change its policy of who is allowed to travel in and out of the country.

I thought I did. Will try again.

I saw that. Ebola is not new. Do WHO and UNICEF have a history of inept reporting on Ebola?

No it's not impractical, you have your agenda so there isn't anything that can be said that would change your mind. We reject passports every single day 365 days a year.
If the person is in quarantine, just how is he going to contract the disease? Tell me what you think his chances are of contracting it under those circumstances?
Why are you against protecting the people of this country from a disease that has no known cure nor a vaccine at this time?
Do you hate America?
Why are you against a prudent solution to a serious problem?
Why do you want someone who could be infected to enter our country?
