State Dept has initiated a Worldwide Alert today. Saying attacks outside the ME are coming. DHS says they didn't hear anything about ISIS in Mexico. What say ye?

The Department of State remains concerned about the continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations, and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas. On September 22, 2014, the United States and regional partners commenced military action against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a designated terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq. In response to the airstrikes, ISIL called on supporters to attack foreigners wherever they are. Authorities believe there is an increased likelihood of reprisal attacks against U.S., Western and coalition partner interests throughout the world, especially in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Asia…..Extremists may elect to use conventional or non-conventional weapons, and target both official and private interests. Examples of such targets include high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas, shopping malls, and other tourist destinations both in the United States and abroad where U.S. citizens gather in large numbers, including during holidays.

U.S. citizens are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure. Extremists have targeted and attempted attacks on subway and rail systems, aviation, and maritime services. In the past, these types of attacks have occurred in cities such as Moscow, London, Madrid, Glasgow, and New York City. State’s worldwide travel warning, however, was not updated to include North America.....snip~

ISIS might try to attack the US and/or Europe. Wow!

And, in other news, it's expected to be colder this winter than it was last summer, most men still like women, we still have to pay taxes, and US elections are expected to be costly.

What else is new?

And, what does Mexico have to do with any of it?

I've heard reports circling around that, though they may be rumors, that water is in fact wet.

In all seriousness, they've BEEN working towards trying to attack us with some terrorist attacks. Top of the list for them, probably.

Really and you just couldn't notice the difference from all that concern that was out there before....huh? What Happened? That was even knowing what the White House told them about Khorasan. Why so specific now? I thought it was always the yawn and stretch when it concerns Americans being targeted.

In April, the only reference to ISIS in the State Department’s worldwide travel warning was relatively generic and did not reflect much urgency.

Iraq is experiencing levels of violence not seen since 2007, and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, formerly known as al-Qa’ida in Iraq (AQI)), is increasingly resurgent. Although U.S. interests have not been targeted directly, the threat of attacks against U.S. citizens, including kidnapping and terrorist violence, continues, even in Baghdad’s International Zone.....snip~

Well, DHS denied they knew of any ISIS ties down in Mexico, which that came out with the 4 Kurds who tried to cross the Mexican Border a couple days ago. After DHS responded to some saying that border Patrol had arrested 4 ISIS members that had crossed the US Mexican Border.

Oh cmon now.....you know you can trust BO's Intel on threats. Its not like he would lie or anything.

Four Kurds?

I thought the Kurds were fighting on the other side.

But, sure, seriously the nutters of ISIS could easily penetrate the US through out porous southern border.

I guess if the DHS is actually saying that we could be attacked by ISIS, when they haven't been saying that before, that could be news.

That ISIS might launch an attack against the west is much like saying that, as VanBasten put it, that water is wet.

or maybe that bears actually do (bleep!) in the woods.

A GOP congressman came out with the story.....then Judicial Watch had some info. First both DHS and WH officials denied that any got in. Then later DHS confirmed they were Kurds and not ISIS. But they did say they were PKK.

Then today NBC scrubbed a story with some up in Canada, getting caught talking about trying to get an attack off at a mall. ISIS sympathizers or supporters.

So, the story of ten ISIS fighters actually was about four Kurds? Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration to me.

What happened in Canada again? NBC scrubbed a story of an attack? What? I didn't understand that last bit.

Yeah Duncan Hunter said Border security had told him about 4 being arrested. But Judicial watch were the ones to come up with the article on ISIS in Mexico.

State’s warning about shopping malls being used as attack sites is particularly relevant. According to a now scrubbed NBC News report, Canadian authorities recently broke up a specific plot which would have been carried out by “ISIS-inspired” militants that included gun and knife attacks at an Ottawa mall.

“In the mall terror plan, the group discussing the attack allegedly did a walk-through of a Canadian mall, scoped out its exits and focused on an attack that would mow down people on crowded escalators,” NBC reported.....snip~

Taken down after Canada today joined the coalition.....and will be calling in Air Strikes.

Uh, it's the country next door to the U.S. But there is no reason to ponder this any more than one would ponder the fact that water is wet.

Re: State Department warns: ISIS attacks outside of the Middle East may be coming....

A.K.A. expect more false flag attacks in the future, as is typical of the military-industrial complex and its corporate cronies. They're just warning you ahead of time so you can keep the fear stoked and wait for the inevitable.

Maybe the western powers should stop arming militant groups as part of their regional chess game of geopolitics? Too late for that now, so they need to manufacture consent for more war.

If only Americans would stop hardening around their pain and instead make rational choices, we would not have a rogue government that continues to launch forever wars.

But, but, but, the President didn't know that he wasn't getting the intel on the reports because the IC didn't tell him that he was missing his intel briefings. He found out about it on the news, just like everyone else, and boy, no one is madder than him!

Coming from a liberal your comments is what one would expect. Ignore all aspect of our natural security like Obama. Like nothing will hit our shores, further like 9-11 never happened.

Then you go on to say what will Mexico have to do with anything. Like maybe Mexico could care less who crosses our border. Again you want an open border so that anyone can cross with open arms. That's what.

There are more than Mexicans coming through the southern border amd they are coming from far afield. Costa Rica serves as a corridor for Asians, Africans migrating to the US

Granted, these are only a few caught here but it's a pretty constant thing and, of course, the more sophisticated will not be caught so easily.

What ISIS is doing is to get the 'lone wolves' to attack American (and Canadian,British, Belgium, etc.) where one person can do a lot of damage, much like the DC snipers, the Fort Hood Shooter, the Boston Marathon bombers, and the Muslim in Oklahoma have already done. There will be more of that, for sure.

Of course nothing will happen as long as you are not the one murdered by an act of 9-11. Liberals are always willing to sacrifice those that die for your ideology of do nothing for national security. What's a few thousand American lives in exchange for appeasement of terrorists or worse yet an all right war against the US. Let them take us, is the motto of Liberalism. Liberals want to be controlled under the power of government, as government no matter if by a dedicator is power that will take care of you.

Do you actually read the posts you are supposedly responding to once in a while? This time, you didn't.

No question there will be more attempts at terrorist attacks in the US and its allies.

Nah......More like BO knows he can't take any more chances.....Which is why our Embassies were being hardened. More up on security. What do you think happens to BO and the Demos should we get hit on their watch again?

Heya CPW. :2wave: Do you think that could be the problem. Here is a piece by the Financial Times and the question I have is......why in the World would they listen to anything an Iraqi has to say about ISIS or AQ?

Why would they give these people any play whatsoever. When have they ever been Right about anything? This is hilarious.....something Right out of Comedy Central. Iraqi Experts on Radical Islamic Movements.. There is no bigger joke than this on the planet. Arabs as experts on Islamic Radical Movements. Now that's some really funny ****. Yet its put out in the MS media feed.

The Merger of ISIS and al-Qaeda Could Cripple the Civilized World.....

As ISIS continues to advance on the Syrian town of Kobani and close in on Turkey’s border, experts in Islamic radical movements think the terror group may merge with its al-Qaeda mother organization soon. Together, the group would represent the greatest terror threat to the civilized world.

“I think Britain, Germany and France will witness significant attacks in their territories by the Islamic State. Al-Baghdadi [the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, otherwise known as ISIS] may reconcile with al-Zawhiri [the leader of the al-Qaeda central organization] to fight the crusader enemy. The attacks by the United States and her allies will unite the two groups,” said Hisham al-Hashimi, an Iraqi researcher who just finished writing a book about ISIS based on his unique access to the organization’s documents and years of research and advising Iraqi security forces......snip~

Lol, liberal. No partisan affiliation whatsoever. Just seen this movie before. And saw how Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad took care of containment before US interference. Seems your still buying the fear and handwringing. Pity too. Let's gin up another unnecessary war for America in the ME.
