The utter nonsense that the supposed creator of the universe (in any name) would give a rat's behind about a score in a game.....
Amazing
Eberybody freaked out when Tebow did it.

Was the rule on going to the ground in place when Tebow was playing? If you think that no Christian player ever knelt down in the end zone, you haven't been watching football very long. If it makes you feel better:
There's Tebow in the endzone. The rule, according to the NFL, has a religious exemption and the league has said that Abdullah shouldn't have been penalized.

If you think Tebow's piuty(sp?) wasn't a source of contraversy, you've been asleep.
It was, but now it's some sort of incomprehensible mixture of Christian conservatives going after the Muslim or reminding liberals of their outrage toward Tebow, and liberals adopting the viewpoint of defending the player or reminding conservatives of their views toward Tebow.
Regardless, I have a small amount of tolerance toward touchdown celebrations of any kind. I'd prefer it if there was a light cheer, a fist bump, or a fist pump rather than some acrobatic routine or testimony to God.
Where are those two at?
If someone wants make a religious expression, he should be allowed to.
So sayeth the NFL, but screw that.Cut down on the excessive grandstanding.

In the NFL's defense, they've said it was wrong to give the penalty.
I really have no problems with Tebow's religiosity. If he wanted to drop to one knee, fine. But if you're going to allow that, Husain Abdullah should get the same courtesy.
Wrong, Tebow got ran out of the NFL on a rail. The other got a apology for the flag. Hope you all are ready to convert. Or at least get your kids ready. Its coming.
Tebow got "ran out on a rail" because he stinks.
Clearly you dont follow football. So, I really dont care about your opinion.
I know more about football than you could ever dream of knowing. The idea that Tebow is no longer in the NFL because of his religion is pants-on-head stupid. There have been hundreds, if not thousands, of devout Christians in the NFL. Kurt Warner was just as religious as Tim Tebow. Ditto Mark Brunell and Jon Kitna.
athletes generally are giving thanks for success, not asking for help in the outcome.
He was penalized for sliding on his knees after scoring, not for the actual praying. It says so right in the article.

Tebow is no longer in the league because he wasn't that good.
Yea, right. Sure you do Mr Lombardi. Oh, and Warner took crap for his religion too. Just people were not as quick to tear someone down like now. We are a much more divided and crass nation than when Warner played.
