I'm sorry, but the chart you posted is wrong.

The only category it lists as being anywhere near the levels seen today is the gray "other diseases" category.

Other charts, also from the CDC, flat out contradict that notion.

And the STD rate is highest in red "family value" type states.
    According to?

Generally speaking, STDs are tied far more heavily to urban and minority populations than political lean.

NYC, for instance, actually has the highest AIDs rate in the whole country.

So my CDC chart is wrong because your CDC chart says something different?

The answer is "because they're counting different things under "other STD's". You'd know that if you traced back the data they're sourced on.

Feel free to explain it then.

The simple fact of the matter is that what the first chart shows makes no damn sense, mathematically, culturally, historically, or otherwise.

    Fox News

All but 2 of the worst 10 are in the bible belt
    A) None of these states but one are actually first in their category.

    B) Illinois and New York are not "red states."

    C) They all have huge minority populations, exactly like I said.

    Edit:

And look at their "best" states for STDs.

    1. West Virginia
(48th for chlamydia, 41st for gonorrhea, 49th for syphilis)
    2. Maine
(49th for chlamydia, 44th for gonorrhea, 43rd for syphilis)
    3. Vermont
(46th for chlamydia, 46th for gonorrhea, 44th for syphilis)
    4. Utah
(47th for chlamydia, 45th for gonorrhea, 42nd for syphilis)
    5. Wyoming
(37th for chlamydia, 50th for gonorrhea, 46th for syphilis)
    6. Montana
(35th for chlamydia, 48th for gonorrhea, 50th for syphilis)
    7. Idaho
(45th for chlamydia, 49th for gonorrhea, 38th for syphilis)
    8. New Hampshire
(50th for chlamydia, 47th for gonorrhea, 30th for syphilis)
    9. Nebraska
(38th for chlamydia, 32nd for gonorrhea, 48th for syphilis)
    10. Minnesota
(43rd for chlamydia, 36th for gonorrhea, 34th for syphilis)
More than half are red states.

Request denied. I like it better when you make stuff up

    Case in point

    A) None of these states but one are actually first in their category.

8 of the ten are red states and 8 are bible belt states.

It's biblical morality that causes sexual irresponsibility

    I accept your surrender then.

    Case in point
Case in nothing. Name a single disease that could be anywhere near as virulent as that chart suggests, before the Sexual Revolution no less.

Was it slutty pixie dust being spread by f*ck fairies?

    What, when, where, and how?

8 of the ten are red states and 8 are bible belt states.

It's biblical morality that causes sexual irresponsibility
At least 7 of the ten states listed have populations that are roughly 30%-50% black.

    Black STD Rates & Fornication

48% of all Black Women in America are infected with incurable genital herpes. [1]

Blacks have HIV rates 800% higher than that of Whites. [2]

Black males are 1,100% more likely to contract chlamydia than White males. Black women contact chlamydia 700% more often than White Women. [3]

Black women are 2,100% more likely to be infected with syphilis than White women. Black men are 710% more likely than White men to have the same disease. [3]

Are you really sure you want to follow this line of reasoning to its logical conclusion?

Again, BTW, you're also ignoring the fact that 6 of the 10 states listed as being "best" for STDs were highly religious red states as well, like Utah.

Not with my tax dollars, they shouldn't.

I don't have any problem with a private school teaching this stuff.... where I take issue is with this being a public school that gets government grants and tax dollars.

We have enough wasteful spending as it is. I'm sorry, but educating 19 year old boys on how to negotiate a threesome is NOT a priority.

The taxpayers who are footing the bill.

How is this going to prepare young people to be more productive citizens? It's the most blatant example of wasteful spending I've ever seen.
