The income gap between the richest and poorest Americans continues to grow.
Another brick in the wall.
Today brings news of Netropolitan.club, a social network for obnoxious rich people. (Or, as its PR representative puts it, an “exclusive online country club” for “busy individuals, hungry for a place to communicate with like-minded people.")
"Netropolitan is designed to be the place to talk about your last European vacation or new car without the backlash.”

Do you get the feeling that rich people just don't want to be around us?

Perhaps.

Who is "us"?

This is no different than the wealthy using private aircraft instead of commercial airlines, I say so be it and find little to be upset about.

"The petty peasant FaceBook just aint good enough for them anymore"

The fact they are just giant pricks.

Starting to sound like you have just as much contempt for them and you claim they do for you in wanting an exclusive social network. So again, the problem is?

You're joking, right? The entire point of the social network universe is to both take preexisting social circles and/or create new social circles and put them in cyberspace. We have such physical networks, facebook groups, and so on for any demographic (including the poor, single mothers, etc etc.)

Why are you so irate?

I've got to agree with Fiddy here. This really doesn't mean anything.

By the way, I wouldn't want to date anyone with significantly less money than me either. People are usually weird in the presence of those with a lot more money than themselves, and in nearly 100% of the personal cases I've seen those who marry people with a lot more money tend to define them by their wealth.

What does this have to do with you or me or anybody else and why do you care?

Do you think this is something new?

You can date or not date whoever you like. Why would anybody care?

I don't care about the income gap - some people make the right choices and others don't.... Besides per capita out "poor" are quite wealthy when compared to the poor in other nations. At the same time tho a 1 dollar US bill in some countries is 50 bucks in their native currency....

It seems to me the real greedy ones are those who actually believe they should be making 6 figures bagging groceries...

It seem our society places no blame on choices some make while demonize choices others make that creates success.

You want to make money? invest in real estate.... You can get properties dirt cheap... Homes that sold for 175k 7-10 yeas ago can be had now for 50k.... A mortgage on a 50k home is absolutely nothing especially if you threw 10 or 15k down payment - rent it out and within a year or two you own the property outright.

Rich people are rather sickening.
