Daniele Watts says she was detained for ‘showing affection’; LAPD says they received call forAppears that this is the new go to. When police are called to check out a potential black suspect and (correctly) ask for ID, the black individual refuses and is detained for further questioning and claims racism. There have been quite a few stories like this over the past few weeks. This could have all been avoided had she just shown the ID.Lucas told TMZ that the couple was “making out in a parked car” outside CBS television studios, where Watts had just had a meeting. Watts said when the officers approached her, she was standing outside on the sidewalk talking to her father on the phone — the officers followed and “accosted her,” using handcuffs. Lucas said in his Facebook post that when Watts declined to show identification after the cops asked (“because they had no right to do so”), they “threw her roughly” in the police car.
BTW, the witneses have now come out and said they were actually doing more than just making out in the car.
