Daniele Watts says she was detained for ‘showing affection’

One, under most law, you must "identify" yourself when asked by a police officer, you must also comply with all "reasonable" requests.

Two, she may quantify her actions as "showing affection" but it is a court of law that defines such things, not a barely known, one role actress who hasn't had decent part in more than a year.

One, under most law, you are not required to show ID

Two, no one is required to comply with any request. I suggest you look up the definition of the word "request"

Third, she continues to be cast for roles. She's had more than a dozen roles since Django

From TMZ:

The "Django Unchained" actress who claimed she was harassed and hurt by cops after making out with her boyfriend was actually having sex in her car according to witnesses ... then went on a rant with cops accusing them of racism and not knowing who she was ... according to police audio obtained by TMZ.

...The eyewitnesses said the guy was sitting in the seat, she was straddling him and it was for everyone to see. One eyewitness told cops they cleaned themselves up afterward with a tissue.

TMZ obtained police audio of the incident. Watts instantly plays the race card when Sgt. Jim Parker asked for her ID. She quickly moves from the race card to the fame card -- then storms off, refusing to show her ID. Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com

Your opinion is duly noted and placed where it belongs - in the same pile as UFO sightings, bigfoot, unicorns and the Tooth Fairy.

Gee, that was so withering...I don't know if I will ever recover! (that is sarcasm, you might not get it)

You don't have to show your ID to a cop at all unless you're being arrested for a crime, and no, not showing your ID is not a crime, and neither is making out in the car.

Actually you do. The officer was following up on a report of sex in a car. She was being a bitch and she got what was coming to her. Her boyfriend, who was cooperating, didn't get the same treatment as she did. They have the whole thing on tape and it's ALL her fault.

If she was white, they wouldn't have hassled her.

Total BS. She brought the whole thing on herself and she herself played the race card.

Why don't you tell me what the probable cause was.

A 911 call reporting those two individuals engaged in unlawful lewd acts in the car?

Which wasn't happening here.

Of course it was. The officer was responding to a 911 call that reported the two individuals were engaged in unlawful lewd activities in the car. That makes it a lawful investigation.

Daniele Watts says she was detained for ‘showing affection’; LAPD says they received call for

Appears that this is the new go to. When police are called to check out a potential black suspect and (correctly) ask for ID, the black individual refuses and is detained for further questioning and claims racism. There have been quite a few stories like this over the past few weeks. This could have all been avoided had she just shown the ID.

BTW, the witneses have now come out and said they were actually doing more than just making out in the car.

Ruh oh......there's audio....

Me and a friend of mine were debating about whether she was giving a hanny or hummer. Turns out she was mounted and had impaled herself on the gentleman's man stick with the door open.

You don't have to show cops your ID, this is true - but the cops don't have to NOT cuff you for doing so. I can't think of a valid legal reason not to show a cop id. And I don't see how it benefits the civilian for not doing so. Plus, she admitted she tried to leave the scene and that a big nocando. If she wouldn't have been a race baiting slut none of these details would have come out.

You offered an opinion based on NOTHING, so I placed it with the other dumb stuff I've heard in my life that are based on nothing (actually bigfoot might actually have a little more foundation in reality than your opinion). I just don't get why people think that making something their opinion entitles them to stop thinking. You had nothing to base your claim on other than the desire to make an accusation of racism.

Neither do you.

Lighten up Francis.

I made no accusations, you did. Stupidity like yours makes dealing with REAL racism MORE difficult, since it causes people to roll their eyes every time racism is mentioned. The people who are fighting real racism should be looking at people like screaming "YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!!!"

Knock it off with the personal attacks, you are whipping yourself into anger for nothing.

Show your damned ID. Even the ACLU advises that people stopped by the cops should show their ID when asked. When you refuse to do so, you get arrested. Duh.

That wasn't a personal attack, it was an attack on the stupidity of your statement. My apologies if I made it sound differently.

You jumped to a conclusion that you have NO reason to jump to. You saw a news report about a black person getting arrested/detained for something questionable and your mind immediately jumped to "RACIST!!!" with nothing to back it up.

Blah blah blah..anger.

I have an opinion, so do you...lets leave it at that without all the anger.

The latest. Apparently pictures exist of the incident, which involved far more than "just kissing." The race card sure is easy to play.. And once played many will instantly believe it.

Django Unchained actress Daniele Watts pictured by witnesses straddling boyfriend in car | Mail Online

The Django Unchained actress who claimed she was harassed by LAPD officers who unfairly arrested her when she was making out with her boyfriend appears to have been doing a lot more than just kissing.
Pictures obtained by TMZ show Daniele Watts straddling her boyfriend Brian James Lucas in his car while the couple steady themselves with their hands on the car sunroof.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that Watts was grinding on top of her boyfriend with her shirt pulled up and her breasts exposed.
An eyewitness who saw the couple as he worked in a nearby office told TMZ that Lucas was sitting in the passenger seat with his feet on the curb and Watts was straddling him and rocking back and forth.

Watts (right) insisted she was just kissing her boyfriend in the car but witness accounts suggest different
Someone from the office went down and asked the couple to stop because everyone in the office could see them but they continued.
The eyewitnesses said Lucas then began 'horizontally bongoing her boobs back and forth'. He added that Watts eventually reached into the center console, grabbed a tissue, wiped him down and then herself and tossed it on the grass.
