Boy Charged For Desecration Of Jesus Statue

Yes you do, you're being thick and I'd rather pound sand.

Good talk...

just don't pound a statue people get cross over it

Keep the government out of my church, and the church out of my government.

I do not want to live in a theocracy.

Blasphemy is a religious law, just as Sharia is religious law. Go to the Middle East and see how it feels to live in a theocracy. We don't want or need it here.

The guy that did this is a scumbag. But he has the First Amendment to protect his scumbagginess.

That would be awesome. I wonder if we could suggest a bolt of lightning?

anything except floods rainbows prove god cant use those any more

God's forgiving as well.

I believe the only message to islamists (and other theocrats) is "If your god is so weak he needs men to enforce his will he's not strong enough to be my god."

Legislating religious morality is cheating anyway. You're supposed to obey god because you believe in him. NOT because there are men with guns and prisons to force you to do so.

Of course.

He will.

Not the point.

Its EXACTLY the point. According to you, the guy from the OP will go to hell. Additional punishment from men is utterly unnecessary.

Blashpemy is not illegal. If you want it to be, go join ISIS.

Well if you disagree with me then you're a Nazi who hates kittens, so go away you kitten-hating Nazi!

(liberal illogic)

No.

No.

Ok. Well, Beaudreaux is a person, just a Adolf Hitler is a person. Therefore Beaudreaux is Adolf Hitler.

(illogic)

did they use a mold instead or sculpting it?

You make NO sense, but continue babbling on, I'm enjoying your frothing at the mouth over blasphemy. My God has a hammer, yours got nailed to the cross, any questions?

Of course.

He will.

Not the point.

ya the point is we should be able to punish people for offending are religious sensibility's and my religion says that's ok its in the bible

Sooo... What was the guy charged with, public indecency?

Blasphemy isn't a crime, as far as I'm aware.

Desecration of a venerated object.

Really? According to me?

No.

That's not my call so I don't speculate.

Temporal discipline must be administered fairly and equally.

You want tolerance than you must give it.

for instance, you might be aware of the hubbub that happened earlier this year at Ole Miss and a statue. What happened in the OP is no less offensive, no less a grievance, but people here want to shrug it off as no big thing. I don't think criminal charges should be brought against the idiot but I do take issue with the nonchalant attitude of posters here.

It's the same, tired, bs that equality, respect, tolerance is suppose to be given to certain groups but when it comes to others it's A OK to be iggy...

It's hypocritical.

No.

The point is if you expect respect to be given that you must give it.
