Ray Rice's Wife, Janay, Defends Him and Rips Media In Statment

What is your point in telling us that all of these people are Democrats?
Besides the fact that you've been supporting goodell all through this?

And how is this any different from the congressional hearings on steroids?
Spousal abuse throughout the NFL will affect the bottom line for years--and that's how these guys get fired .

I'll post to you one last time because I feel sorry for you.

The word "Democrat" and the letter "D" indicating a party affiliation appears nowhere in my post. I copied that list from the bottom of their letter to Roger Goodell.

So I didn't tell anyone that they were Democrats. Your knee jerk reaction just told everyone that they were all Democrats. Congratulations.

Have a nice evening.

I could almost buy that B.S. if it weren't for how Rice acted after he punched her in the head. A man who wasn't accustomed to beating on women would have put his hands on his head and mimicked a, "WTF did I just doooo????" Not him. Not macho man. He drug her out of the elevator like she was a dead steer in a slaughterhouse

Right. I know I'm harping on this, but what signaled for me his callous disregard for her just as a human being was that he didn't care that she was exposed and didn't pull down her dress. People do this to protect a parent or kid or sig. other's modesty. He didn't.

Ray needs to be in Jail.

But, she was stupid to married him.
I guess she loved him.....and.....

his money.

The NFL punishes someone for because they have shown a propensity to commit violent acts against defenseless people without remorse and the NFL are the cowards?????? I blame the NFL for not doing due diligence on their initial investigation but to say suspending Ray Rice is the media's fault and the NFL shouldn't have suspended him for at least a whole season is mind boggling. Ray Rice is the coward. He was the one that proved he is capable of remorseless, unmerciful violence against people that cannot hope to defend themselves. Whatever punishment Ray Rice gets can only be blamed on Ray Rice.

Yes, they are cowards for caving to the hyenas out for Rice's blood. And here you are lying about him for the full lynch mob effect. There is no evidence that he was "remorseless and unmerciful."

Of course she is. If Ray ain't raking in the millions that hurts her lifestyle significantly.

I think that this punishment is a little severe, but I don't think his suspension lasts past this year. He's 27 now, so he's got a good 3 years left as a running back. More than that if he's a backup.

Yeah, several million dollars lost, no big deal.

I wouldn't call it excessive to boot someone who abused his wife. You may think beating your spouse until she is unconscious is no big deal but most people do think it is a big deal.

Don't put my name on a straw man, and I won't ascribe your dislike of Rice to racism.

Busybodies? What a pathetic attempt to defend this piece of crap.

He plays a sport. Sports do not produce a product. They only produce entertainment for sports fans. If the sports fans are discussed with your bullying of women you have lost your sales value. Your team does not wanting you around and hurt the other players and organization sales.

I guess Rice and you learned something called responsibility about your actions. Your momma isn't here to tell you that its the media's fault for you slugging the mother of your child.

No, I think it's a damned good effort on my part at criticizing the lynch mob mentality around Rice, and you guys are having a damned hard time responding to it coherently. Tell us all again how the opinion of Janay, the victim of the beating, doesn't even count.

As for defending Rice, he should be punished. But there is no virtue in either handing out or accepting unjust and excessive punishment or bowing before an irrational, enraged mob.

She pushed his buttons knowing full well he'd snap. That's what some women do. That's what she did. Because if she wasn't that kind of whore, she'd have had his ass thrown in jail.

Janay is the one the hyenas claimed they were protecting, on whose behalf they came down so hard on Rice! But she doesn't join the hate fest so she's dirt, too.

The justice system acted according to established guidelines.

Interesting, Rice was approved for pre trial intervention (PTI) and according to the New Jersey Courts Guidelines
PTI is used in criminal cases that don't involve violence and for victimless crimes.

What hyenas? They didn't discipline him to protect Janay, she's as nutz as he is. They threw the book at him to protect their fan base. Over half of women watch NFL games today. This thuggery isn't new. Football players have long been notorious for rough-housing their women. Twenty years ago it was news. Now? With the internet? With Twitter? Women have found yet another voice to make themselves heard.

The Atlantic County prosecutor apparently acted within his discretion.

OK thanks, so he didn't act according the established guidelines, but used his discretion instead. I'm not sure for what purpose, as Rice was initially charged with assault by the Atlantic City police in the early hours of Feb. 15. But on March 27, an Atlantic City grand jury, presumably after watching all the Revel casino security camera videos, increased the charge to aggravated assault-bodily injury in the third degree and one count of simple assault. If convicted, Rice could have faced a penalty of three to five years in prison.

With these charges, should Rice have gotten a deal?

So no matter what, let him off? You're just lashing out willy nilly at anybody who doesn't share your apparent man-crush on Ray Rice.

Maybe he should have thought of the money he'd lose. Ironically, it seems that he's taking this better thsn you. Maybe he's taking personal responsibility for his actions while you blame it on everybody else. Strange how you only talk about personal responsibility when it comes to liberals. Or maybe it's not....

By the way, very weak attempt at playing the race card.

With the video of him knocking her out with a sucker punch to her head it would look pathetic if he tried to blame it all on the media.

Even someone as low as Rice is apparently taking responsibility now. It seems someone to accuse others for Rice's wrongdoings would be even lower. Perhaps the poster's name LowDown is appropriate.

Not to mention that he kicked her after dragging her out .

I agree. I know everyone is concerned/focused on the NFL's punishment, but shouldn't this have been a justice system punishment being far more important? The NFL can't control his behavior and prevent future occurrences; the justice system can.

You're absolutely right - this is why I've been saying that the NFL and other sports leagues shouldn't be punishing players for "crimes" but only punishing them for one of two things - they brought question to the integrity of games or they brought question to the integrity of the league - trying to be a second level of criminal/civil justice, a parallel court system, subjects them to the same level of disgust lots of us feel when juries get it wrong like in OJ or when judges are too lenient when handing down sentences and/or accepting plea deals.

If his crime is as bad as we all think it is (and I would say based on video that it is) then we should all agree he's a dangerous man. If we all agree to that, then we should all agree that the state of NJ let a dangerous man out to continue being a threat to society.

I'll have to consult my copy of the Constitution, but I can't remember the part in it where it says that the justice system has to defer to national sports leagues who hold the ultimate responsibility for keeping the country safe from dangerous people.

You're absolutely right - there was a time, before social media, when a man or woman who committed a crime was subjected to the justice system, was convicted or acquitted, and if found guilty served their time and then reentered society. Now, with social media, it seems everybody wants every entity that has any contact with a fallen man/woman to pile on and they insist on public floggings and sacrifices to the media gods in addition to any justice system penalty. Most people I know could care less if Tiger Woods has a promotions contract with Nike and therefore Nike is guilty of adultery if they don't toss his sorry ass out the door immediately.

Social media, in my view, is the modern day Roman Colosseum crowd chanting, demanding, miscreants be thrown to the lions and they are not satisfied until total destruction is meted out. Then, miraculously, once the person is torn to shreds, they'll start their social media campaign to resurrect the poor person once again. Mob rule and mob mentality is sickening and we're living it day to day in our failing society.

The Tiger Woods analogy is a good one. Somehow Nike got implicated because he decided to cheat on his wife. Go figure.

The mob mentality is very much alive and well. In fact, I see it on here.

You are the one who said his punishment for beating his wife was excessive. Obviously you must not think it is that big of a deal to beat your wife if you think getting kicked off a sports team is somehow excessive punishment for beating your wife.

Seriously - a whore? You have no idea about their relationship and maybe she had enough and snapped, finally trying to stand up for herself only to get knocked out for the effort and put back in her place, which she now is. Maybe she isn't strong enough to leave him yet but that certainly doesn't make her a whore for not reporting it.
