Right. I know I'm harping on this, but what signaled for me his callous disregard for her just as a human being was that he didn't care that she was exposed and didn't pull down her dress. People do this to protect a parent or kid or sig. other's modesty. He didn't.

Ray Rice is the coward. He was the one that proved he is capable of remorseless, unmerciful violence against people that cannot hope to defend themselves. Whatever punishment Ray Rice gets can only be blamed on Ray Rice.
Yes, they are cowards for caving to the hyenas out for Rice's blood. And here you are lying about him for the full lynch mob effect. There is no evidence that he was "remorseless and unmerciful."

I think that this punishment is a little severe, but I don't think his suspension lasts past this year. He's 27 now, so he's got a good 3 years left as a running back. More than that if he's a backup.
Yeah, several million dollars lost, no big deal.

Don't put my name on a straw man, and I won't ascribe your dislike of Rice to racism.

I guess Rice and you learned something called responsibility about your actions. Your momma isn't here to tell you that its the media's fault for you slugging the mother of your child.
No, I think it's a damned good effort on my part at criticizing the lynch mob mentality around Rice, and you guys are having a damned hard time responding to it coherently. Tell us all again how the opinion of Janay, the victim of the beating, doesn't even count.

As for defending Rice, he should be punished. But there is no virtue in either handing out or accepting unjust and excessive punishment or bowing before an irrational, enraged mob.

She pushed his buttons knowing full well he'd snap. That's what some women do. That's what she did. Because if she wasn't that kind of whore, she'd have had his ass thrown in jail.
Janay is the one the hyenas claimed they were protecting, on whose behalf they came down so hard on Rice! But she doesn't join the hate fest so she's dirt, too.

Interesting, Rice was approved for pre trial intervention (PTI) and according to the New Jersey Courts Guidelines

What hyenas? They didn't discipline him to protect Janay, she's as nutz as he is. They threw the book at him to protect their fan base. Over half of women watch NFL games today. This thuggery isn't new. Football players have long been notorious for rough-housing their women. Twenty years ago it was news. Now? With the internet? With Twitter? Women have found yet another voice to make themselves heard.

Way too many thugs in that sport. Time to clean it up.

OK thanks, so he didn't act according the established guidelines, but used his discretion instead. I'm not sure for what purpose, as Rice was initially charged with assault by the Atlantic City police in the early hours of Feb. 15. But on March 27, an Atlantic City grand jury, presumably after watching all the Revel casino security camera videos, increased the charge to aggravated assault-bodily injury in the third degree and one count of simple assault. If convicted, Rice could have faced a penalty of three to five years in prison.

With these charges, should Rice have gotten a deal?

So no matter what, let him off? You're just lashing out willy nilly at anybody who doesn't share your apparent man-crush on Ray Rice.

Maybe he should have thought of the money he'd lose. Ironically, it seems that he's taking this better thsn you. Maybe he's taking personal responsibility for his actions while you blame it on everybody else. Strange how you only talk about personal responsibility when it comes to liberals. Or maybe it's not....

By the way, very weak attempt at playing the race card.

With the video of him knocking her out with a sucker punch to her head it would look pathetic if he tried to blame it all on the media.

Even someone as low as Rice is apparently taking responsibility now. It seems someone to accuse others for Rice's wrongdoings would be even lower. Perhaps the poster's name LowDown is appropriate.
