Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily[W:20]

The phony hypocritical Paul is distrusted by so many Libertarians and we now see another reason why .

I don't like many of Paul's positions. But I fail to see how he is being a 'hypocrite' in this situation.

So many inaccuracies in this quote it makes me wonder if you are actually serious.

Any time you feel like destroying my points of variable fact, by all means "Bring It On" as blunderboy Bush would say. Until then, Rand Paul is an etch-a-sketch flip-flopping evolver playing crass politics while his President is actually working on foreign soil .

Except you have no accurate points. Only lies and misconceptions.

The Republocrats pushing for infinity war? Say it's not so!

Many of these libertarians were convinced that paul wasn't a "republocrat". I guess not.

It shouldn't be too hard for you to show all of us what a liar I am then.
Do back up your statement of my lies and misconceptions with no discussion of the actual thread .

Meanwhile, Paul has spent his entire 6-week vacation trashing Hillary Clinton for being a warhawk.

How does this bellicose rhetoric not make him the ultimate warhawk,
and a damned dangerous one at that since he's such a flip-flopper .

Re: Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily

NextEra is right: if you don't support sending Canadian troops into harm's way to help deal with ISIS, it's very hypocritical to demand that the US send more of its own.

Next Era, and you yourself may be right if you actually had knowledge that I didn't support Canadian troops being used in this endeavour. You assume falsely. I supported Canadian troops being deployed in Afghanistan. I supported Canadian troops being used in Iraq, even though my government at the time didn't - I was pleased, however, that even though the Canadian Liberal government at the time publicly said they wouldn't be involved, behind the scenes they were actively involved in the Persian Gulf. I supported Canadian troops being used against Libya. And I now support Canadian troops being used in Iraq and Ukraine.

The difference perhaps between you and I is that my country and government doesn't stick its nose in other country's affairs unless asked to help and when asked we seldom if ever refuse to assist. There isn't a single war in my lifetime that Canada precipitated, but we don't shirk our moral obligation to help those who need it. It's probably why Canada is one of the most respected countries in the world and perhaps why many Americans, when traveling abroad, will wear a Canadian flag pin to avoid trouble.

Re: Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily

let him be a hypocrite, canadians fight like the french, with a white flag, hell maybe even worse.

You have my condolences - ignorance and arrogance is a terrible mixture.

How do you know that he doesn't support sending Canadian troops into harm's way? FFS.

That's the difference between our governments, but not between us personally. I have long contended that America would be much better off leaving the affairs of other countries to the people who live there, and I put very little weight in any kind of "moral obligation" to do otherwise.

And that is not inconsistent with what Senator Paul has proposed.

How does Paul propose to pay for this? Gold doubloons? Conservatives are quick to whine and say what should be done, but they sure won't rasie taxes on the rich to do it. Case in point: Bush's trillion dollar unfunded wars, which we're still paying off.

How did Obama pay for the escalation in Afghanistan?

How did Obama pay for the bombing of Libya?

How did Obama pay for the bombing of ISIS already?

It may come as a surprise to you, but there aren't enough rich to soak for every idea that may pop into your head.

Not hard to see where the term "ugly American" comes from, but fortunately I and most of my Canadian compatriots know full well that such ignorance and arrogance isn't shared by the vast majority of the good people who make up your fine country and as such we'll be ready to assist when the next call comes because, like with the drunken brother-in-law, a century of experience has told us there's always a next call, but what can we do, you're like family.

Hum .. one must wonder if you aren't an 'Ugly American' at heart, being that you are showing all the traits you so despise in Americans.

Dry wit. How a propos.

He raised taxes on the rich. Remember you guys were all bent out of shape about that (even before it happened)?

But I'm glad conservatives are finally coming round to agreeing it was a good thing.

Rand believes intervention should be when there is a legitimate threat. He's right.

Anyone who calls him a "neocon" is in serious need for an education.
